Put aside the Darkness

THIS IS THE VERDICT: LIGHT HAS COME INTO THE WORLD, BUT MEN LOVED DARKNESS INSTEAD OF LIGHT
(John 3:19).

For some reason, it is hard for us to choose Light.  Sometimes, we walk in circles for days or weeks to avoid the Light.  We focus on the other person’s darkness, knowing very well that the darkness that fills our own hearts is far worse. We reason that if we could stay focused on the other person’s darkness, our own darkness could stay hidden just a little longer.  But, darkness is like quicksand—it pulls you in slowly…until you suffocate and drown.

SO LET US PUT ASIDE THE DEEDS OF DARKNESS AND PUT ON THE ARMOR OF LIGHT
(Romans 13:12).

Precious Child, you need to know that your enemy, the father-of-lies, will try to persuade you to stay in darkness, because from this painful place of abandonment, condemnation, rejection, and shame he can manipulate you…control you…manage you. However, these negative, destructive beliefs will become irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they will harass you, wherever you are, whatever you do. Therefore, put aside the deeds of darkness and put on My Armor of Light. This will put ME in control of your heart and life…and drive the darkness out.

BUT IF YOU DO NOT DRIVE OUT THE INHABITANTS OF THE LAND FROM BEFORE YOU, THEN IT SHALL BE THAT THOSE WHOM YOU LET REMAIN SHALL BE IRRITANTS IN YOUR EYES AND THORNS IN YOUR SIDES, AND THEY SHALL HARASS YOU IN THE LAND WHERE YOU DWELL
(Numbers 33:55).

This is how you might put aside your deeds of darkness and put on the Armor of Light: 

Stop playing mind games.  Be honest with yourself by looking at your own heart and calling a spade a spade.  Why are you really so upset?  Is it because you feel betrayed?  Is it because you feel overlooked?  Is it because you feel unloved?  Invite the Lord Jesus into the perturbing perceptions that comprise your darkness, and allow Him to show you His Perspective. His Light will drive your darkness out.

PRAYER:  Lord Jesus, thank you that You have come so I may see.  I invite You to shine Your Light into the dark beliefs of abandonment, shame, rejection, and condemnation that dwell in my heart.  Break through the darkness, Lord, and bring me clarity, as I expose these beliefs to you.  Clothe me with Your Armor of Light, so You may be in control of my heart and life.

We do not understand what is going on within us and we are too afraid to find out. We are too afraid to live…and even more afraid to die.

Broken Cisterns That Cannot Hold Water

JESUS ANSWERED HER, ‘IF YOU KNEW THE GIFT OF GOD…YOU WOULD HAVE ASKED HIM AND HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU LIVING WATER’
(John 4:10).

Have you ever caught yourself pretending to be happy when you are not—pretending that nothing is wrong when your heart is sad, mad, or bad?  Do you play games with yourself and others when your heart hurts, because you are afraid that people would condemn you when they find out that you carry pain in your heart?  Or do you even believe the Perfect Father does not love you when you are sad, mad, or bad?

FOR GOD DID NOT SEND HIS SON INTO THE WORLD TO CONDEMN THE WORLD, BUT TO SAVE THE WORLD THROUGH HIM
(John 3:17).

Precious Child, you need to understand that it is the world’s way to condemn, but I, the Perfect Father, did not send My Son into the world to CONDEMN you…BUT TO SAVE YOU!  I sent My Son, Jesus, to give you a drink of Living Water when you are hurting–when you feel sad, mad, or bad.

MY PEOPLE HAVE COMMITTED TWO SINS: THEY HAVE FORSAKEN ME, THE SPRING OF LIVING WATER, AND HAVE DUG THEIR OWN CISTERNS, BROKEN CISTERNS THAT CANNOT HOLD WATER
(Jeremiah 2:13).

But, in order to receive the Living Water, you need to admit that your heart is hurting, first.  Stop pretending that you have what it takes.  Stop pretending that everything is OK when it is not.  Stop digging your own cisterns, trying to fill your heart with your own joy, goodness, and love.  Do not be fooled. These are broken cisterns that cannot hold water. These are your own defense mechanisms that have no power. Only the Living Water, which My Son gives freely to those who come to Him, will quench your thirsty heart. The Living Water will fill you with His Joy, His Goodness, and His Love.

What problems have you discovered when you dig your own cisterns, trying to fill your heart with your own joy, goodness, and love?

What would it take for you to stop pretending that everything is OK, and ask the Lord Jesus for a drink of Living Water when you feel sad, mad, or bad?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I leave my broken cisterns behind and come to drink from Your Spring of Living Water that never runs dry.  Thank you that You did not come to CONDEMN me, but to SAVE my heart from being sad, mad, and bad.  Your Greatness is unmatched!

The Big LIE of Unworthiness

For a big part of my life, I lived deceived, enslaved by the negative, destructive beliefs of the father-of-lies that labeled me “despicable.” Because of the pain this label caused in my heart, I harbored malice and envy in my heart, hating those who seemed so worthy compared to me. I continued living according to these oppressing beliefs, until the Lord God called me to a different way of life.

AT ONE TIME WE TOO WERE FOOLISH, DISOBEDIENT, DECEIVED AND ENSLAVED BY ALL KINDS OF PASSIONS AND PLEASURES. WE LIVED IN MALICE AND ENVY, BEING HATED AND HATING ONE ANOTHER
(Titus 3:3).

Beloved Child, you have been living your life under the Big Lie of Unworthiness. During various circumstances in your childhood, you allowed the father-of-lies to tell you that you are despicable: that you are not enough…that you do not measure up…that you are fatally flawed. As a result, these negative, destructive beliefs grouped together to form the Big Lie of Unworthiness in you.

IF YOU THEN, THOUGH YOU ARE EVIL, KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO YOUR CHILDREN, HOW MUCH MORE WILL YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!
(Luke 11:13).

Do not despair, Precious One, I care about you. Therefore, I sent you My Gift, the Holy Spirit, to live and reign in your mind in the place of the Big Lie of Unworthiness that operates under the management of the father-of-lies. Know with certainty that you do not have to live the rest of your life under this lie. You can be free…if you invite My Holy Spirit of Truth into your mind and heart to replace the Big Lie of Unworthiness in you. Then, your sinful behavior patterns of escape will leave and you will stop living your life in malice and envy.

Are you tired of living in the Big Lie of Unworthiness? Find the negative, destructive beliefs from the father-of-lies that have grouped together to form this lie in you. Then, bring them before God and ask the Holy Spirit of Truth to reign in your mind.

PRAYER: Holy Father, how great is Your Love, to send me the Holy Spirit of Truth to reign in my mind in the place of the Big Lie of Unworthiness. I expose the beliefs that comprise this lie, to You, Lord God. Exchange them for Your Truth, so I may live under Your Management, instead, and be free from my sinful behavior of envy and hatred toward others.

It Is All in Your Mind

There is a saying that states, “It is all in the mind.”  Well, this happens to be true. Have you ever noticed that you tend to act out the beliefs that reside in your mind?  If your mind contains negative beliefs, you have negative emotions and destructive actions.  If your mind contains positive beliefs, you have positive emotions and constructive actions.  Your mind is a control center that affects your whole life: how you handle yourself, how you handle other people, and how you handle God.

THE MIND OF SINFUL MAN IS DEATH, BUT THE MIND CONTROLLED BY THE SPIRIT IS LIFE AND PEACE
(Romans 8:6).

Precious Child, think of a control tower at an airport.  It is the job of the air traffic controller to control the incoming and outgoing planes and tell them where to go.  He gives the planes permission to land and the pilots have to obey.  This ensures life and peace.

In the same way, I have sent My Holy Spirit to be the thoughts-and belief-traffic controller of your mind, giving permission to certain thoughts and beliefs to land, and others, to leave.  I, the Father, of whom are all things, want to be in charge of your life—what you believe, how you feel, and what you do. The result in your life will be Life and Peace.

FOR US THERE IS ONE GOD, THE FATHER, OF WHOM ARE ALL THINGS, AND WE FOR HIM; AND ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THROUGH WHOM ARE ALL THINGS, AND THROUGH WHOM WE LIVE
(1 Corinthians 8:6).

The question is: Will you allow Me to be in charge of your mind through the Spirit of My Son, through whom are all things and through whom you will receive Life and Peace?

THOSE WHO ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD ARE SONS OF GOD
(Romans 8:14).

Who is in control of your mind—your own beliefs, or the Father, from whom are all things, and the Spirit of His Son, through whom are all things? Consider praying the following prayer, every morning, giving God’s Spirit authority to exercise restraining and directing influence over your mind and its beliefs.

PRAYER: Lord God, how encouraged I am that You are able to purify me through and through…even my mind.

Lord God, be the belief-controller of my mind.  In the same way an air traffic controller gives permission to planes to take off and land, I authorize Your Spirit to be in control of the beliefs that enter my mind, moment-by-moment.  Give permission to the pure beliefs of Truth to land, and command all negative beliefs to leave, so my life could be filled with Your Life and Peace.

If the desire to matter is not satisfied through the solid Framework of God’s Presence, from the inside-out, our hearts become a black hole that sucks everyone in, for the sole and soul purpose to receive accolades…praise…glory.

How to Deal with Your Emotions

MAY GOD HIMSELF, THE GOD OF PEACE, SANCTIFY YOU THROUGH AND THROUGH
(1 Thessalonians 5:23).

Beautiful One, I, the God of Peace, yearn to purify you, through and through, all the way to your emotions.  But you need to know that your emotions do not stand alone; they are governed by what you believe—by what you accept as true or real in your own mind.  Have you noticed how often your emotions become hopeless, fearful, and bitter when you lean on your own understanding…when you depend on your own beliefs…when you rely on your own mind?

AND WE KNOW THAT THE SON OF GOD IS COME, AND HATH GIVEN US AN UNDERSTANDING, THAT WE MAY KNOW HIM THAT IS TRUE, AND WE ARE IN HIM THAT IS TRUE, EVEN IN HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. THIS IS THE TRUE GOD, AND ETERNAL LIFE
(1 John 5:20).

Child, I want you to start living differently, even today. I want you to learn how to deal with your emotions.  Whenever you have an emotion that perturbs you, I want you to find the belief from the father-of-lies that supports that emotion. Know that the father-of-lies is constantly roaming around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour with his negative, destructive beliefs of abandonment, shame, rejection, and condemnation. He likes to plant these in your mind with the hope that you will receive, accept, and believe them.

But, I have sent Jesus, My Son, to bring you understanding, that you may know Him who is the Truth. If you submit the beliefs that support your perturbed emotions to Jesus, He who is the Truth will show you His Perspective. Then, your beliefs will change and your emotions will follow suit. You will receive a spirit of Power, and Love, and of a sound mind…and sound emotions.

FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND
(2 Timothy 1:7).

Do you have a sound mind? If not, how does your mind influence your emotions? Are you willing to receive a sound mind, even today?

Practice, every day, moment-by-moment to submit the perturbing beliefs in your mind to the Lord Jesus. Ask Him to bring His Truth into your mind, daily. Then, you will receive a sound mind…and sound emotions.

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord Jesus, that You have come to give us a sound mind—an understanding, so we may know You, who are the Truth.  Thank you that we may be in You, who are true, and that we may know the Truth for every negative, destructive belief from the father-of-lies that enters our mind. Enlighten my understanding, daily, O Lord, so I may receive a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, for a sound mind will generate sound emotions.

Often times, we use the same defense mechanisms we saw our parents or other authority figures use, during our childhood lives. If they hid behind a smile to pretend that everything was OK, we learned to do the same.

How to Deal with Your Thoughts

MAY GOD HIMSELF, THE GOD OF PEACE, SANCTIFY YOU THROUGH AND THROUGH
(1 Thessalonians 5:23).

A few years ago I realized that my actions—the things I DO in life—were not so bad.  But on the inside—in my THOUGHT life—it was a different story.  That area looked more like a war zone.  Ugly thoughts “I am a failure…I am worthless…I am a victim” ravaged my mind, all the time.  Negative, belittling thoughts were running loose, everywhere, turning my mind into a battle zone.  The worst thing was…I believed everything I thought. But then, the Lord God had a Word with me:

LET THE WICKED FORSAKE HIS WAY, AND THE UNRIGHTEOUS MAN HIS THOUGHTS: AND LET HIM RETURN UNTO THE LORD, AND HE WILL HAVE MERCY UPON HIM; AND TO OUR GOD, FOR HE WILL ABUNDANTLY PARDON
(Isaiah 55:7).

Beautiful Child, I can see that you have no peace in your thought life. I wish to change that. I wish to give you My Peace; but first, I need something from you.

Precious One, I want you to forsake your thoughts and return to Me.  Stop receiving, accepting, and believing the negative, destructive beliefs from the father-of-lies. Do not let these belittling commands from the evil one run loose in your mind, allowing them to influence your mind and injure your heart. Instead, take each thought captive and bring it before Me. If you do, I will have mercy upon you and sanctify you, through and through, spirit, soul, and body, with My Peace.

 AND WE TAKE CAPTIVE EVERY THOUGHT TO MAKE IT OBEDIENT TO CHRIST
(2 Corinthians 10:5).

What do your day-to-day thoughts look like? How do these thoughts influence your life—your emotions and behavior?

I urge you to keep your thoughts from running loose. Start catching each thought that causes you to feel bad, mad, or sad. Then, submit each one to the Lord Jesus and ask Him to exchange it for His Word of Truth to you.  With which thought do you want to start, today?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, today, I catch this thought that has been running loose in my mind, causing feelings of shame, condemnation, rejection, and abandonment in my heart. I submit it to Your Authority to be submissive to the Perfect Father’s Will.  Remove this thought from my mind and replace it with Your Word of Truth for me. Redeem my spirit, soul, and body from the damage this thought has caused in me, so I may be sanctified, through and through, by Your Peace.

The Relationship that Offers Life

Did you know that, during His time on earth, the Lord Jesus lived a life of perfect ONENESS with His Father?  To Him it was all about the Glory—His relationship of UNITY with His Father.  And now the Father has made that same relationship of Glory available to you—to be ONE with Him through His Son, Jesus.

AND THE GLORY WHICH THOU GAVEST ME I HAVE GIVEN THEM; THAT THEY MAY BE ONE, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE
(John 17:22).

Child, I want you to capture that just before Jesus left for Heaven, He prayed the following words for you.  He could have prayed for anything, but He prayed for that which was most important to Him and for that which is most important to you: THE RELATIONSHIP WITH ME, THE FATHER—the Glory of Unity.

THAT THEY MAY BE ONE AS WE ARE ONE:  I IN THEM AND YOU IN ME. MAY THEY BE BROUGHT TO COMPLETE UNITY TO LET THE WORLD KNOW THAT YOU SENT ME AND HAVE LOVED THEM EVEN AS YOU HAVE LOVED ME
(John 17:22-23).

You need to know that the father-of-lies will try anything to keep you from the Glory of Unity—a relationship of oneness with Me, the Father, of whom are all things, and with My Son, Jesus, through whom are all things. The enemy knows that if you come into oneness with Me, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THAT I LOVE YOU AS MUCH AS I LOVED MY SON, JESUS, when He was here on earth. Don’t let the father-of-lies rob you of this Glory!

FOR US THERE IS ONE GOD, THE FATHER, OF WHOM ARE ALL THINGS, AND WE FOR HIM; AND ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THROUGH WHOM ARE ALL THINGS, AND THROUGH WHOM WE LIVE
(1 Corinthians 8:6).

What negative, destructive beliefs did the father-of-lies instill in your mind that are keeping you from the Glory of Unity—a relationship of oneness with God, the Father, through Jesus, the Son?  Did he tell you that you have no favor with God…that God will not answer you…that God only wants to punish you?

Submit these negative, destructive beliefs to the Lord Jesus and ask Him to bring you into His Glory—ONENESS with Him and the Father.

PRAYER: Father, how encouraged I am that You abound in Love and that You want to give that Love to me. I hunger for an intimate relationship with You, and I hunger for Your Love.  Call me into unity with You, so I may know that You are in this place, right now, waiting to receive me and show me how much You love me.

We run…and run…and run. We run towards bad distractions and destructions like alcohol, drugs, or even crime, or we run towards good distractions like entertainment, or our husbands, wives, friends, or counselors.

The Father of Compassion

Hello Precious One, how are you, today? I, the Most High, already know how you are, but I want to hear from you, personally, because I love spending time with you. I love talking to you. I love having a personal relationship with you. Are you doing all right? Are you perhaps feeling sad, or mad, or bad, today?

PRAISE BE TO THE GOD AND FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER OF COMPASSION AND THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT, WHO COMFORTS US IN ALL OUR TROUBLES
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Precious Child, I want you to know that I, the Father of the Lord Jesus, am the Father of Compassion, the God of all Comfort…and I want to comfort YOU, today.  The word COMPASSION means the sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it.  Know that I, the Father of Compassion, am aware of your distress and that I have the intense desire to alleviate it…when you come to Me.

 BLESSED ARE THEY THAT MOURN: FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED
(Matthew 5:4).

But you need to understand that your distress does not function on its own.  It sits on oppressing beliefs, instilled in your mind by the father-of-lies: that you are comfortless…that nothing will ever work out for you…that your life is worthless.  Know that I, the God of all Comfort, can comfort you, at ALL times, and in ALL circumstances, by telling you the Truth.  However, you need to come to Me and talk to Me. You need to tell me how you feel and what the father-of-lies told you about your circumstances. During our time together, I will tell you the Truth. Then, you will be comforted.

BUT WHOEVER LIVES BY THE TRUTH COMES INTO THE LIGHT
(John 3:21).

Know that it is not your circumstances, but what you came to believe about your circumstances that are causing the most sorrow in your heart, right now. Therefore, find out what oppressing beliefs the father-of-lies whispered to you, causing you to have so much pain in your heart, today?

Then, come to the God of all Comfort and talk to Him about these beliefs. Tell Him what is on your heart. Spend time with Him. When He talks to you, He will tell you the Truth…and you will be comforted.

PRAYER: How marvelous is Your Compassion, God of all Comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles. Father of Compassion, I am willing to be comforted.  I invite You into the troubled spots in my heart that are filled with sorrow, distress, and anguish. Show me the Truth to these oppressing beliefs that are supporting my sorrow, so I may be comforted.

Let His Light Shine in Your Heart

Have you noticed that you have a sinful nature that is filled with darkness?  This sinful nature is a result of the negative, destructive beliefs of the father-of-lies and has a character of its own, either pitiful and pathetic, or domineering and demanding. Because this sinful nature lives its own life in you from and for the father-of-lies, YOU keep on doing the things YOU DO NOT want to do, and the things YOU DO want to do YOU CAN NOT DO.

I KNOW THAT NOTHING GOOD LIVES IN ME, THAT IS, IN MY SINFUL NATURE.  FOR I HAVE THE DESIRE TO DO WHAT IS GOOD, BUT I CANNOT CARRY IT OUT. FOR WHAT I DO IS NOT THE GOOD I WANT TO DO; NO, THE EVIL I DO NOT WANT TO DO—THIS I KEEP ON DOING
(Romans 7:18-19).

Dear Child, it is no use trying to tame this sinful nature of yours, because this nature does not want to be tamed.  It will not obey you, no matter how hard you try, for it only listens to its master, the father-of-lies.

FOR GOD, WHO SAID, ‘LET LIGHT SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS,’ MADE HIS LIGHT SHINE IN OUR HEARTS…THE LIGHT OF LIFE’
(2 Corinthians 4:6 and John 8:12).

Listen to My Word for you, today, Beloved One:  Jesus, My Son, is the only One who can turn water into wine…let Light shine out of darkness…replace the sinful nature from the father-of-lies with His Nature, BECAUSE ALL AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO HIM.  If you confess your sinful nature to Him and ask Him to save you from it, He will come into your heart to shine in you as the Light of Life. If you submit to this Light of Life in you, you will stop doing the things you DO NOT want to do, and the things you DO want to do, you will keep on doing.

AND JESUS CAME AND SPAKE UNTO THEM, SAYING, ALL POWER IS GIVEN UNTO ME IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH
(Matthew 28:18).

Have you identified your sinful nature? Is it pathetic and pitiful or domineering and demanding? Which beliefs from the father-of-lies control it?

If you are tired of being controlled by the sinful nature, stop trying to fix it.  Instead, show it to the Lord Jesus and ask Him to remove it and put a new nature in you—His Nature that is filled with the Light of Life.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, Son of the Most High, Your Name is exalted above all. Lord Jesus, I am tired of my sinful nature that rules my life, so that I do not do what I want to do and keep on doing what I do not want to do. I confess this nature to You, Lord Jesus. Please remove the negative, destructive beliefs from the father-of-lies that are keeping this nature alive in me. Make Your Light shine in my heart to become my Light of Life—a new Nature under Your Authority.

When You Are Weak

BUT HE SAID TO ME, ‘MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU, FOR MY POWER IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS.’ THEREFORE I WILL BOAST ALL THE MORE GLADLY ABOUT MY WEAKNESSES, SO THAT CHRIST’S POWER MAY REST ON ME.
(2 Corinthians 12:9).

What are your weaknesses? What defense mechanisms do you employ when things go wrong in your life? Do you have the weakness of falling into depression when you feel hopeless?  Do you have the weakness of giving up when you feel disappointed?  Do you have the weakness of fiercely defending yourself when you feel attacked?

Precious Child, did you know that I am with you during your weaknesses? Did you know that the Power of My Son, Jesus, rests on you during your weaknesses? Did you know that it is during your weaknesses that I want to show you My Grace? Beloved, My Grace and Power are perfectly enough for you to overcome the lies of the father-of-lies, who is at work in you during your weaknesses.

NOW TO HIM WHO IS ABLE TO DO IMMEASURABLY MORE THAN ALL WE ASK OR IMAGINE, ACCORDING TO HIS POWER THAT IS AT WORK WITHIN US, TO HIM BE GLORY
(Ephesians 3:20).

My Child, through My Son, I can do immeasurably more in your life than all you can ask or imagine, especially during your weaknesses. However, you need to come to Me. You need to tell Me how you feel and which oppressing beliefs from the father-of-lies are making you weak. Then, you need to listen to My Words for you. Through My Words you will receive My Power to overcome your weakness and to do My Will in your life.

Focus on your heart, and find the weaknesses that live in your character through the lies of the father-of-lies.  Stop hiding your weaknesses. Stop running from them. Stop blaming them on others. Stop trying to fix them.  Instead, claim and name them.

Then, expose these weaknesses to the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask Him to do immeasurably more than what you can do with them—to work His Power in you, so your weaknesses may be overcome.

PRAYER: I praise You, Perfect Father, that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to deal with any weakness I might have.  Lord Jesus, I cannot fix my weaknesses, nor does it help to run from them, or hide them.  They follow me wherever I go.  Therefore, I call them by name and lay them at Your feet. Work Your Power in me, to do immeasurably more than I can ask or imagine.  Cover my weaknesses with Your Grace, so they might be overcome. To You be Glory!
