Live in the Present

I bless you to live in the present…in the now…today.

FROM THE FULLNESS OF HIS GRACE WE HAVE ALL RECEIVED ONE BLESSING AFTER ANOTHER
(John 1:16).

Live in the abundance of each blessing that is available to you from the fullness of Christ’s Grace, here in this place, this very moment.  Feast on it.  Know that there is enough Grace for you for right now, if you do not invite the past and the future to participate in the present.  From the fullness of His Grace, God will provide tomorrow’s blessings when tomorrow comes.

THEREFORE DO NOT WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW, FOR TOMORROW WILL WORRY ABOUT ITSELF. EACH DAY HAS ENOUGH TROUBLE OF ITS OWN
(Matthew 6:34).

Precious Child, I want you to live in My Blessing of Hope that is available to you, now, at this moment in time, through the abundance that is in My Son, Jesus.  Take pleasure in the now.  Make good use of it.  Have a good time.  Do not anticipate the hopelessness of tomorrow or waste away in the failures of yesterday.  I, the God of Hope, stand ready to fill you with My Joy and Peace, now, in the present, when you trust in Me to shower you with Hope through the power of My Holy Spirit.

GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD
(Matthew 6:11).

Beloved, flourish in the Blessing of Peace that is available to you through Me, the Lord of Peace, right now, this very hour.  Make each moment count.  Rejoice in it.  Make the most of it.  Do not melt away in the anxiety of the past or lose strength in the expectations of the future.  I, the Lord of Peace, stand ready to give you My Peace, at this moment in time, for your immediate circumstances, no matter how bad they are.

May you live in the fullness of His Grace,
And receive each Blessing He has for you,
Every day…every hour…this very moment,
While you live in the now.

What is it that you need, today…this moment…now? Do you believe that God’s Grace is enough to supply for that need, now? If not, take this matter up with God and submit the hindrance/belief to Him that has stolen His Blessing from you.

The Most High wants you to stop striving for that which you have been needing, all your life. Instead, He wants you to simply ask Him to give it to you for free from the fullness of His Grace…today.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I long to live in the fullness of Your Grace, every day, moment-by-moment. Bring me to the place where I will stop living from the emptiness of my own soul, but receive the Daily Bread that is available to me from the fullness of Your Grace.

Maintain an Awareness

When your heart hurts, both the Lord Jesus and the father-of-lies stand ready to lead you out of that pain to a solution.

God Is Love

LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND. IT DOES NOT ENVY, IT DOES NOT BOAST, IT IS NOT PROUD. IT IS NOT RUDE, IT IS NOT SELF-SEEKING, IT IS NOT EASILY ANGERED, IT KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS.  LOVE DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL BUT REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH.  IT ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERES.  LOVE NEVER FAILS
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7).

GOD IS LOVE
(1 John 4:16).

Precious One, I, the Savior, want you to know that I am patient, even when your pain and weaknesses show…because I am Love.

Ponder that I, the Redeemer, am kind and do not condemn as people do…because I am Love.

Value that I, the Good Shepherd, am not boastful, but came to this earth to serve you and share everything I am, with you…because I am Love.

Embrace that I, the Resurrection and the Life, am not rude, but gentle…because I am Love.

Know that I, the Wonderful Counselor, am not self-seeking, but came to share My own Wholeness and Holiness with you…because I am Love.

Celebrate that I, the Author and Finisher of your faith, am not easily angered, even when you come undone…because I am Love.

Speculate that I, the Bread of Life, keep no records of your wrongs, after you have asked forgiveness…because I am Love.

Capture that I, the God of Light, do not delight in evil done against you or anybody else…because I am Love.

Recognize that I, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, rejoice whenever you are set free by the Truth…because I am Love.

Acknowledge that I, Immanuel, yearn to protect you from the negative, destructive beliefs of the father-of-lies…because I am Love.

Understand that I, the Everlasting Father, always trust and hope that you will bring your pain and weaknesses to Me, instead of hiding from them, running away from them, and blaming them on someone or something else…because I am Love. My Love never fails. I will never fail you.

AND SO WE KNOW AND RELY ON THE LOVE GOD HAS FOR US. GOD IS LOVE.  WHOEVER LIVES IN LOVE LIVES IN GOD, AND GOD IN HIM
(1 John 4:16).

What has the father-of-lies told you about God: that He has forsaken you…that He wants to harm you…that He is not faithful?

If you have been believing these lies, you have been missing out on God’s Love for you. Submit these beliefs to the Way, the Truth, and the Life, just the way you hear them in your mind. Then, experience the Truth…and God’s Love for you.

PRAYER: Lord God, I submit my beliefs about You to the Truth. I realize that I have an enemy—the father-of-lies—who wants me to think that You are phony…that You are cruel…that You are easily angered. But I come to YOU. Show me who You really are, so I may EXPERIENCE Your LOVE…and believe.

God wants you to desire a purpose from Him, because He has a purpose that He has been saving just for you.

Secure in Him

HIS FAITHFUL PROMISES ARE YOUR ARMOR AND PROTECTION. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THE TERRORS OF THE NIGHT, NOR THE ARROW THAT FLIES IN THE DAY. DO NOT DREAD THE DISEASE THAT STALKS IN DARKNESS, NOR THE DISASTER THAT STRIKES AT MIDDAY. THOUGH A THOUSAND FALL AT YOUR SIDE, THOUGH TEN THOUSAND ARE DYING AROUND YOU, THESE EVILS WILL NOT TOUCH YOU
(Psalm 91:4-7).

Beautiful One, do not base your security on the way those around you live their lives.  Instead, keep on uniting with Me, the Perfect Father, through My Son, Jesus Christ.  Let your relationship with Me guard you against doom, despair, and disappointment.  Stand firm. Endure. Overcome.

Persevere when you feel you are the only one standing on My Truth—My personal promises to you.  Be tenacious.  Keep on doing what is right.  Be unyielding in your obedience to My Counsel. Never give up. Never give in. Never say never.

Though a thousand fall at your side, yielding to the negative, destructive beliefs of the father-of-lies, be unyielding in your submission to the Truth. Continue to trust Me, the Perfect Father, with all your heart, instead of relying on your own perturbing perceptions and circumstances. Keep on authorizing the Spirit of Truth to direct your life.  Stop at nothing. Run on. Abide.

Though ten thousand are falling around you, walking in the darkness of shame, condemnation, rejection, and abandonment, continue to live as a child of the Light, rejoicing with Hope through the Power of the Holy Spirit, persevering in affliction, and praying without ceasing. Do not be afraid.

Let the Truth be your defense, so that the accuser’s lies do not throw you to the ground.  Then, the father-of-lies will not kill your Peace, steal your Hope, and destroy your Joy.  No, these evils will not touch you.

Are you deriving your truth from those around you: how they act…what they believe…what they say? How does this affect YOUR life?

There are many Truths that God wants to tell you that will not be in line with what others believe, but you need to meet Him in the places where others might not want to go. You need to believe the promises that others might not want to believe. You need to follow Him into the places where others might never have been.

PRAYER: Most High, show me Your ways. May I be willing to follow wherever You lead, even if nobody has ever been there before, lived that way before, or believed that way before.

Maintain an Awareness

The truth is if we do not follow God in our thoughts, we will not follow Him in our actions, either, and then we will end up with the wrong purpose.

To Live in the Shadow of the Almighty

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Precious One, come and live in My Presence, in the embrace of My Hope, in the safety of My Truth, in the protection of My Light. Then, you will find rest from the hopelessness…the darkness…the fear. Do not lean on the understanding of your own thoughts, and allow your emotions to be carried away. But trust only in Me, always. Then, you will be protected…covered…hidden, for it is I, the Almighty, who will rescue you from every trap of deception.

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

My Child, do not be dismayed when abandonment attacks at night, nor when the arrows of blame fly in the day, nor when the memories of shame strike at midday. Know that no evil will touch you, if you submit all of these to Me, Almighty God.

 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter.

 What will it take for you to make Psalm 91 your lifestyle?

PRAYER: Most High, be my Shelter: my Cover from hopelessness…my Protection from fear…my Light from darkness. Hide me under Your wings, so I would be shielded from shame, abandonment, rejection, and condemnation. I surrender my life to You!

Discipline, the training to enter God’s Holiness, cannot be exercised AFTER we have already entered a route of escape to resort to a sinful solution.

Put Off the OLD SELF with Its Deeds

PUT OFF YOUR OLD SELF, WHICH IS BEING CORRUPTED BY ITS DECEITFUL DESIRES…AND PUT ON THE NEW SELF, CREATED TO BE LIKE GOD
(Ephesians 4:22). 

We all have a CORRUPTED PERSON living inside of us: a being, shaped in us by the father-of-lies, filled with negative, destructive beliefs of condemnation, shame, abandonment, and rejection—the OLD SELF.

When these OLD SELF beliefs of condemnation, abandonment, shame, and rejection are triggered, we hurt so much that we want to bandage the pain as soon as possible.  And the father-of-lies stands ready with his SOLUTION: sinful habits and patterns of hiding, running, and blaming others.  THESE ARE THE PRACTICES OF THE OLD SELF.

Some people think that in order to become holy, they only need to put off the PRACTICES of the OLD SELF.  They think that all they need to do is to stop their harmful habits of hiding, running, and blaming in order to become whole and holy.

SINCE YOU HAVE TAKEN OFF YOUR OLD SELF WITH ITS PRACTICES
(Colossians 3:9).

But I have discovered that it does not help to only put off the PRACTICES of the OLD SELF.  You have to put off the PERSON of the OLD SELF, first.  If you only put off the PRACTICES of the OLD SELF, the OLD SELF PERSON is still in you.  This deceived OLD SELF PERSON is void of God’s Love, Hope, and Truth, and feels unloved, unworthy, and unacceptable. The OLD SELF PERSON NEEDS ITS PRACTICES OF DEFENSE, so it can take care of its pain.  If you take its defense patterns away, it will find new ones.  You cannot do this backwards.

Have you noticed the OLD SELF PERSON that lives in you? What are the negative, destructive beliefs that keep it alive? What are its practices—the harmful habits that take care of its pain?

I urge you to invite the Lord Jesus to put off the OLD SELF in you, and to put on HIS SELF in you, who is filled with new beliefs of Love, Truth, and Hope.  Then, your harmful habits will disappear, because it is only if there is someone NEW living in you with whole and holy beliefs that you do not need your sinful defense patterns anymore.  Know that you cannot better your SELF from the outside; you need to be exchanged on the inside for a NEW SELF—the SELF of the Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I lay my corrupted OLD SELF PERSON by Your feet. Please come and replace it with Your Self—the NEW SELF. Then, I will not need my harmful habits anymore. Then, I will be new.

We do not understand what is going on within us and we are too afraid to find out. We are too afraid to live…and even more afraid to die.

Sometimes, You Have to Walk through the Mud

LET US FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS, THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF OUR FAITH, WHO FOR THE JOY SET BEFORE HIM ENDURED THE CROSS, SCORNING ITS SHAME, AND SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE THRONE OF GOD.  CONSIDER HIM WHO ENDURED SUCH OPPOSITION FROM SINFUL MEN, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT GROW WEARY AND LOSE HEART
(Hebrews 12:2-3).

I take a two-mile walk, every day, in the mountains where I live.  During the spring, the snow melts and sometimes there is a lot of mud on this dirt road.  One day, I came to a patch of mud that stretched across the whole width of the road.  I stopped short and stared at it in disgust.  There was no way around it.  I did not feel like trudging through the mud and getting my shoes, my pants, and my little white dog soiled with it, but I wanted to see the beautiful view of the mountains on the other side. Suddenly God’s Spirit nudged me, “Child, sometimes you have to walk through the mud to get to the other side, where you can get a better view. You have to ENDURE during unpleasant circumstances, so you may gain a better perspective.”  

Are you facing unpleasant circumstances, at the moment? Do these bring you in touch with dreadful circumstances of the past—childhood abuse and neglect? I encourage you to walk through the mud.  Regard your present circumstances with acceptance and tolerance. Remain firm under your current suffering, without yielding to despair and defeat. Face the childhood abuse.  Look the offenses in the eye.  Confront the mistreatment.  Do not be afraid.  If you stay on this side, you are losing out on the best view—God’s Perspective.  Your Perfect Father wants to accomplish many things in your life, but these are all on the other side of the mud.

You might say that you do not want to walk through the mud, because it will contaminate, corrupt, and stain you.  This is a lie from the father-of-lies.  The pain of the abuse and neglect is already living in your heart, contaminating your soul.  Remember, it is not the circumstances that are hurting you, but your CONCLUSIONS—what you came to believe about yourself, others, and God, as a result of the circumstances. And these CONCLUSIONS live in your MIND, contaminating your spirit and the view of your present circumstances.

Learn to endure. EMBRACE these conclusions, EXPOSE them to the Lord Jesus, and ask Him for His Perspective. His Perspective will EXCHANGE you for a new person.

What kind of “mud” do you have in your life? What has been hindering you from walking through the mud to a great new start?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, let me take Your hand. Walk with me through the mud that has been contaminating my mind, my heart, and my life for so many years. Bring me to a new place, where I may see a different view—Your Perspective. Then, I will be a new person.

This must be the hardest of all lessons to learn: to keep our eyes on the Eternal God during difficult circumstances, and trust that His everlasting arms are underneath us, holding us and keeping us safe.

Jesus Did Not Come to be Served…but to Serve

THE SON OF MAN DID NOT COME TO BE SERVED, BUT TO SERVE, AND TO GIVE HIS LIFE AS A RANSOM FOR MANY
(Matthew 20:28).

Celebrate that the Lord Jesus has been raised from the dead…to become your Life.

Beloved One, I, the Bread of Life, want you to know that, first and foremost, I did not come to be served by you, but to serve you: to care for you…to minister to you…to save you.  Know that in the first place it is not about what you do for Me, but what you allow Me to do for you.  It is not about how useful you are to Me, but how valuable I am to you.  I am offering My Life to you, so you may be unchained from sorrow, discharged from guilt, and unyoked from slavery to harmful habits.

SO IT IS WRITTEN: ‘THE FIRST MAN ADAM BECAME A LIVING BEING; THE LAST ADAM, A LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT’
(1 Corinthians 15:45).

Precious Child, it is not about what you have done in the past that was wrong, but about what I have done in the past…that was right.  I died for you, then became alive for you, to offer you My Self—a Life-giving Spirit.

THEN JESUS DECLARED, ‘I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE. HE WHO COMES TO ME WILL NEVER GO HUNGRY, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME WILL NEVER BE THIRSTY’
(John 6:35).

Are you so busy serving the Lord Jesus that you are missing out on Him serving you with His Life? What is it that you need the Lord Jesus to do for you and to BE for you through His Life-giving Spirit, today?

Receive from Jesus, the Bread of Life, so your hunger for Hope may be stilled, your longing for Righteousness may be satisfied, and your yearning for Wholeness may be fulfilled.  Accept that it is only after you have received from Him that you can give back to Him, because without Him you are nothing and you have nothing.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I come to be served by You. I come to receive Your Life, so I may be unchained from the sorrow that has lived in my heart for so long. I come to receive a drink from Your Living Water, so I may be unyoked from the guilt my past mistakes have caused in my heart. I come to You to be my Bread of Life, so that my hunger for Righteousness may be satisfied and my thirst for Love may be quenched.  How joyful I am that You have been raised from the dead…to become my LIFE! How blessed I am that You have given Your Life to me as a Ransom.

If you would turn to the Desire of All Nations and receive the Love, Righteousness, and Purpose He has stored up for you in His Presence, you will be satisfied.

The OLD ME and the NEW ME

IF INDEED YOU HAVE HEARD HIM AND HAVE BEEN TAUGHT BY HIM, AS THE TRUTH IS IN JESUS:  THAT YOU PUT OFF, CONCERNING YOUR FORMER CONDUCT, THE OLD MAN WHICH GROWS CORRUPT ACCORDING TO THE DECEITFUL LUSTS, AND BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND, AND THAT YOU PUT ON THE NEW MAN WHICH WAS CREATED ACCORDING TO GOD, IN TRUE RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS
(Ephesians 4:21-24).

One of the revelations that opened my eyes was the discovery that I had an OLD ME living inside of me, since childhood: a corrupted person, formed by deception…a needy being, shaped by the lies of the father-of-lies…a flawed personality, influenced by negative, destructive beliefs of abandonment, condemnation, shame, and rejection.

The father-of-lies did not necessarily need BIG TRAUMATIC childhood experiences to install his negative, destructive beliefs into our minds. Although he DID use the traumatic incidences in our lives to make sure we believe that “God is disappointed in you” and “You are fatally flawed,” he only needed a little word like “NO!” when we were three years old to tell us that “You are not loved.” This negative, destructive belief, instilled in us during an insignificant event, would have the same adverse effect on our hearts than the one instilled in our minds during a traumatic event.

KNOWING THIS, THAT OUR OLD MAN IS CRUCIFIED WITH HIM, THAT THE BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DESTROYED, THAT HENCEFORTH WE SHOULD NOT SERVE SIN
(Romans 6:6).

But then I learned that the Lord Jesus nailed the OLD ME to the cross with Himself.  Then, on the third day, He rose again to become the NEW ME in each of us—Someone who is created without the lies of the father-of-lies, in true righteousness and holiness.

FOR IF, WHEN WE WERE GOD’S ENEMIES, WE WERE RECONCILED TO HIM THROUGH THE DEATH OF HIS SON, HOW MUCH MORE, HAVING BEEN RECONCILED, SHALL WE BE SAVED THROUGH HIS LIFE!
(Romans 5:10).

Are you aware of any childhood incidences during which the father-of-lies formed an OLD ME in you—a needy being, filled with negative, destructive beliefs of “I am not OK”?

Would you be willing to allow your OLD ME to be crucified with Jesus, and then invite Him into your heart to become the NEW ME from whom you may live? This is the only way you can get rid of your flawed personality, forever.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank you that I am not doomed to be a needy person, shaped by the father-of-lies, but that there is a NEW ME available to me through You.

Every given moment of your life, you live either in obedience to the Counsel of the Perfect Father, or in obedience to the counsel of the father-of-lies.

Walk in the Light of the Truth

THIS IS THE MESSAGE WE HAVE HEARD FROM HIM AND DECLARE TO YOU: GOD IS LIGHT; IN HIM THERE IS NO DARKNESS AT ALL. IF WE CLAIM TO HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM YET WALK IN THE DARKNESS, WE LIE AND DO NOT LIVE BY THE TRUTH. BUT IF WE WALK IN THE LIGHT, AS HE IS IN THE LIGHT, WE HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER, AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS, HIS SON, PURIFIES US FROM ALL SIN
(1 John 1:5-7).

 Precious One, you need to know that to walk in the Light means to live by My Truth. Truth turns darkness into Light. Therefore, you cannot be in agreement with the negative, destructive beliefs of the OLD MAN and in agreement with the Truth, at the same time. You cannot heed the counsel of the father-of-lies and My Counsel, simultaneously. You cannot be a friend of the Light and be a friend of darkness, at the same time. Darkness and Light do not mix. They are incompatible. You are either in the dark, or in the Light. As soon as you turn on the Light, the darkness flees, and as soon as you turn off the Light, it is dark. The Light is turned on by the Truth, because whoever lives by the Truth comes into the Light. Be careful, Child. If you are walking in darkness, you are not living by the Truth. If you are living by the Truth, you will not walk in darkness.

BUT WHOEVER LIVES BY THE TRUTH COMES INTO THE LIGHT
(John 3:21).

Expose the darkness in your mind to the Light.  Lay open the beliefs that cause you to despair.  Bring to light the interpretations you have made about yourself…the assumptions you have made about your enemies…the conclusions you have formed about your friends.  Live by the Truth, so you can walk in the Light.

FOR THE FRUIT OF THE LIGHT CONSISTS IN ALL GOODNESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUTH
(Ephesians 5:9).

 May you walk in the Light of the Truth.

“I am a mistake. I am abandoned. I am fatally flawed. I have disappointed God. I am a failure. I have no purpose. I am invisible. I am not special. I am a disgrace.” Which of these dark interpretations live in your mind?

Embrace these dark conclusions, then expose them to the Light, and they will be exchanged for the Truth, for the fruit of the Light…is Truth.

PRAYER: God of Light, help me to understand that to walk in Your Light means to live by Your Truth.  Your Light is the Truth.  Your Truth turns darkness into Light.

I embrace these painful interpretations that live in my mind, Lord God. I expose them to Your Light. Exchange them for Your Truth, so I may walk in Your Light.

Each time we hear from God, we are changed…or rather EXCHANGED, for the Words He speaks are Spirit and are Life.

Your Mind

THE MIND OF SINFUL MAN IS DEATH
(Romans 8:6).

Did you know that God does not deem your mind trustworthy?  Why not?  Your mind is not dependable, because the father-of-lies has had access to your mind since the day you were born.  You are not the only one sharing your mind.  During the disconcerting childhood circumstances of your life, the father-of-lies lured you into deception: false conclusions…wrong interpretations…inaccurate assumptions.  Therefore, when you pull answers from your mind, you are also drawing false answers from the father-of-lies.

SO I TELL YOU THIS, AND INSIST ON IT IN THE LORD, THAT YOU MUST NO LONGER LIVE AS THE GENTILES DO, IN THE FUTILITY OF THEIR THINKING.  THEY ARE DARKENED IN THEIR UNDERSTANDING AND SEPARATED FROM THE LIFE OF GOD
(Ephesians 4:17-18).

Even after you have become a Christian, you must not live in the futility of your thinking, because your understanding is darkened by the father-of-lies.  In fact, he uses your own thoughts to separate you from God’s Presence and His Answers.

THE WEAPONS WE FIGHT WITH ARE NOT THE WEAPONS OF THE WORLD. ON THE CONTRARY, THEY HAVE DIVINE POWER TO DEMOLISH STRONGHOLDS. WE DEMOLISH ARGUMENTS AND EVERY PRETENSION THAT SETS ITSELF UP AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, AND WE TAKE CAPTIVE EVERY THOUGHT TO MAKE IT OBEDIENT TO CHRIST

What is your opinion about YOUR mind: that it is good…that it is trustworthy…that it knows the truth? Do you always rely on your mind to find a solution to your problem, your unworthiness, and your brokenness?  Do you run to your mind when things go wrong…when someone insults you…when someone fails you? 

I urge you to treat your mind as a deathtrap that is used by the father-of-lies, at any given moment in time.  Take every thought captive that enters your mind.  Question every belief that lives in your mind. Demolish every argument in your mind that has set itself up against the knowledge of God. Soon, you will notice the difference in your life.

PRAYER: God of Truth, keep me from running to my own mind-set when things go wrong…when someone insults me…when someone fails me.  Keep me from living in the futility of my thinking. Instead, let me look to You for answers to my problems, solutions to my unworthiness, and explanations to my brokenness, for only You know the Truth.
