THEREFORE, MY BELOVED, AS YOU HAVE ALWAYS OBEYED, NOT AS IN MY PRESENCE ONLY, BUT NOW MUCH MORE IN MY ABSENCE, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING
(Philippians 2:12).
Do not become a victim—the sacrifice for someone’s heartache he or she has been carrying around since childhood. Be on the alert, lest someone lays you on the altar as a sacrifice for her/his pain. Do not be deceived. Do not be fooled. Do not be tricked. Do not become injured and destroyed by another person’s pain. Do not be a victim. Get up! Get out!
HE IS THE ATONING SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS, AND NOT ONLY FOR OURS BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD
(1 John 2:2).
Know that everyone is responsible to work out his own salvation: owning his pain, taking responsibility for his own sinful defense habits and patterns, acknowledging his own misinterpretations, AND TAKING IT TO JESUS, the Atoning Sacrifice.
BUT WHEN THIS PRIEST HAD OFFERED FOR ALL TIME ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS, HE SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD
(Hebrews 10:12).
Do not play the role of a sacrificial lamb, for you will become a hindrance…a barrier…an obstacle, blocking the blamer from seeing the real Sacrifice—Jesus Christ, who offered HIMSELF for our sins and the sins of the whole world. He is the only Priest who can pardon anyone’s sins and purify us from all unrighteousness…even the heartache we have been carrying around since childhood.
IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST AND WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND PURIFY US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS
(1 John 1:9).
Differentiate whether someone wants you to help him bring his pain to Jesus…or whether someone wants to victimize you, using you as a sacrificial lamb to carry his sins. There is a huge difference.
If you notice that you have become a victim, turn to your own heart. Why are you allowing this abuse to happen to you? What oppressing beliefs from the father-of-lies are keeping you in this position? Embrace these beliefs, expose them, and let them be exchanged for the Truth.
Then, break away…and let the Lord Jesus do His job in this person’s life. It is not your call. Become the vessel through whom He works, but do not try to be the atoning sacrifice.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I crown You as Lord of my Life. I honor You as the real Lamb, who was sacrificed for all of our unrighteousness, even the heartache we have been carrying around since childhood, even the iniquities and pain of our children, our parents, our friends, and our enemies.

Our relationship with God is not just one-sided—us praying to God. When we pray, God also needs to talk to us…and He WANTS to.
