When You Surrender, God Will Accept

I live a life of surrender—surrendering every thought that enters my mind and every feeling that enters my heart to God.  I do this every day of my life…no exceptions—thoughts of fear, doubt, disappointment, guilt, shame, rejection, and abandonment.

THAT YOU MAY STAND PERFECT AND COMPLETE IN ALL THE WILL OF GOD
(Colossians 4:12).

Sometimes, when I try to yield something or someone to God, the father-of-lies would tell me that I am not surrendering in a way that is acceptable to God—that God would not accept my surrender, unless I do it perfectly.

Today, I want you to know that there is no wrong way to surrender anything or anyone to God.  He will accept and guard what you have entrusted Him, even if you do not submit someone or something to Him in a perfect way. He understands your heart. He knows what you are trying to do, even if you don’t. He will fill in the gaps for you—the thoughts you forgot to mention, the words you neglected to say, and the feelings you did not even know you had.

THEREFORE, BROTHERS, SINCE WE HAVE CONFIDENCE TO ENTER THE MOST HOLY PLACE BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS, BY A NEW AND LIVING WAY OPENED FOR US THROUGH THE CURTAIN, THAT IS, HIS BODY, AND SINCE WE HAVE A GREAT PRIEST OVER THE HOUSE OF GOD, LET US DRAW NEAR TO GOD WITH A SINCERE HEART IN FULL ASSURANCE OF FAITH
(Hebrews 10:19-22).

I bless you to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of the Lord Jesus.  Draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance that He accepts what you entrust Him, even when it feels so unreal and unacceptable.  Enter boldly into the Presence of the Most High with a heart fully trusting Him, for He has never forsaken those who seek Him.

THOSE WHO KNOW YOUR NAME WILL TRUST IN YOU, FOR YOU, LORD, HAVE NEVER FORSAKEN THOSE WHO SEEK YOU
(Psalm 9:10).

Do you sometimes struggle to find the right words, the right feelings, and the right thoughts to surrender to God?

Get as close to your feelings, words, and thoughts as you can. Then, lay these down at the feet of the Lord Jesus, in full assurance of faith.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I lay my feelings, thoughts, and words down at Your feet. Redeem them, my Lord, and show me Your Truth. Fill in the parts that I missed. You know what I need.

Maintain an Awareness

If the desire to matter is not satisfied through the solid Framework of God’s Presence, from the inside-out, our hearts become a black hole that sucks everyone in, for the sole and soul purpose to receive accolades…praise…glory.

To Exchange the Truth for a Lie

THEY EXCHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD FOR A LIE, AND WORSHIPED AND SERVED CREATED THINGS RATHER THAN THE CREATOR—WHO IS FOREVER PRAISED
(Romans 1:25).

Understand that it has always been the god of this world’s goal to get you to serve created things rather than the Creator.  He would like you to revere people, instead of the Creator of people.  He would love for you to serve a ministry, instead of the Author of the ministry.  He would like you to glorify the extent of your education, rather than the Most High.

DON’T YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU OFFER YOURSELVES TO SOMEONE TO OBEY HIM AS SLAVES, YOU ARE SLAVES TO THE ONE WHOM YOU OBEY—WHETHER YOU ARE SLAVES TO SIN, WHICH LEADS TO DEATH, OR TO OBEDIENCE, WHICH LEADS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS?
(Romans 6:16).

Beautiful One, the god of this world will get you to worship and serve created things, rather than Me, the Creator, by exchanging truths in your life for lies, one at a time.  If the father-of-lies can get you to believe him, he can get you to obey him.  Once he can get you to obey him, he can control you.  Once he can control you, he can get you to become a slave to the sinful habit of serving created things, instead of the Creator.

THE COMING OF THE LAWLESS ONE WILL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WORK OF SATAN DISPLAYED IN ALL KINDS OF COUNTERFEIT MIRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS, AND IN EVERY SORT OF EVIL THAT DECEIVES THOSE WHO ARE PERISHING. THEY PERISH BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO LOVE THE TRUTH AND SO BE SAVED
(2 Thessalonians 2:9-10).

But, you will perish if you believe and obey the father-of-lies. You will serve created things, instead of Me, your Creator.  You will try to find acceptance, worth, and meaning for your life by serving people, things, organizations, and high positions rather than the Creator of these. Therefore, Child, love the Truth…and be saved.

Where do you find acceptance, worth, and meaning for your life: from the Creator…or the things He created?

Know that you will never be fully fulfilled by worshiping and serving created things, rather than the Creator. Therefore, love the Truth and be saved. Find the lies of unworthiness and non-acceptance in your life. Then, expose these to God. When your Creator exchanges these lies for His Truth, you will be in awe. Then, you will serve the Creator.

PRAYER: Lord, Creator or Heaven and earth, I bow down to Your Authority. I come to love the Truth and be saved. I come to serve You, my Creator.

Maintain an Awareness

And here lies the root to all our problems: not the FACTS we experienced during our childhood circumstances…but the CONCLUSIONS we made in response to these facts.

That You May Stand

STAND FAST IN THE LORD
(1 Thessalonians 3:8).

I love the movie Karate Kid, released in 2010.  What impressed me the most about the movie was the way the little boy started his training to become an expert.  You see, this little boy had a bad habit. He would throw his jacket on the floor, instead of hanging it up on the peg, whenever he got home.  His mother scolded him often for this behavior, but his bad habit prevailed.

When his karate master started training him, he did not focus on the advanced karate skills, first, but on the basic skill of curing him from his bad habit of throwing his jacket on the floor.  For training, the boy had to take his jacket off, hang it on the peg, take it off the peg, and put it back on, over and over.  He had to do this for weeks on end, until his bad habit was broken.  Only when he was done with this basic training was he fit to start the advanced training of becoming a karate expert.

God trains us the same way.  He gives us the same challenge over and over again, day after day, year after year, to break our bad habits of dropping our hearts on the floor, in despair, during difficult circumstances. He does this, until we learn to stand fast in Him. After many failures, we learn to overcome—to pick up our hearts and believe.  Only then, God is able to teach us the next, more advanced lessons.

THAT YOU MAY STAND PERFECT AND COMPLETE IN ALL THE WILL OF GOD
(Colossians 4:12).

I bless you to learn to stand perfect and complete in all the Will of God, no matter what God is teaching you at the moment.  Pick your heart up, again…and again…and again. Learn to stand in faith, when circumstances beg you to give up.  Learn to stand fast in the Lord, when you do not see any results, yet, from what He has been teaching you. At the proper time you will reap a harvest, if you do not give up.

LET US NOT BECOME WEARY IN DOING GOOD, FOR AT THE PROPER TIME WE WILL REAP A HARVEST IF WE DO NOT GIVE UP
(Galatians 6:9).

What bad habit is hindering you from receiving God’s Hope, Love, and Truth that He is holding out to you during your difficult circumstances? Why do you keep dropping your heart on the floor, in despair? When are you going to learn to pick your heart up…and overcome?

What will it take for you to surrender this bad habit to God and ask Him to exchange it for His complete and perfect Will for your life?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, show me my bad habits, so I may surrender them to You. Teach me never to give up surrendering to You, so I may stand perfect and complete in all Your Will.

Maintain an Awareness

Woe to us, the rebellious children, when we take counsel from the father-of-lies, and when we cover ourselves with coverings that are not from God. We will add sin to sin.

You Have Received a Comforter

NEVERTHELESS I TELL YOU THE TRUTH;
IT IS EXPEDIENT FOR YOU THAT I GO AWAY:
FOR IF I GO NOT AWAY, THE COMFORTER WILL NOT COME UNTO YOU;
BUT IF I DEPART, I WILL SEND HIM UNTO YOU
(John 16:7).

Believe that the Lord Jesus has sent you a Helper—His own Spirit.  You have an Adviser…a Sustainer…a Maintainer.  You are not companionless…unaccompanied…alone.  You are not forsaken…pushed aside…betrayed.  You have a Helper who is IN you.

AND I WILL PRAY THE FATHER,
AND HE SHALL GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER,
THAT HE MAY ABIDE WITH YOU FOREVER
(John 14:16).

I bless you to be comforted and encouraged.  God sent the Comforter to be IN you—to help you from the inside-out.  You are never alone.  Do not be intimidated by your surroundings and circumstances.  You are not abandoned. You are not floating around in thin air. You are grounded. You are safe. Your Counselor is in you.  Do not be anxious about anything. Do not be afraid to be by yourself.  Your Encourager abides with you forever. You are complete. You have everything you need for Life and Godliness—God’s life-giving Spirit IN you.

THOUGH MY FATHER AND MOTHER FORSAKE ME,
THE LORD WILL RECEIVE ME
(Psalm 27:10).

I bless you to know that even if your father and mother have forsaken you, the Perfect Father has received you.  Be comforted and healed from your abandonment and rejection.

 I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS: I WILL COME TO YOU
(John 14:18).

Are you suffering from feelings and beliefs of abandonment and rejection—feeling left, forsaken, or pushed aside?

Where have this abandonment and rejection entered your life for the very first time? I bless you to go back to that place and invite God to replace that empty spot in your heart with His very own Presence IN you—the Comforter.

PRAYER: Lord God, I open my heart to You. I submit this empty spot of abandonment and rejection in my heart, along with the circumstances through which it formed in my heart, to You. Come and fill my heart with Your Presence.

Enter God’s Rest

FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO WILL AND TO ACT ACCORDING TO HIS GOOD PURPOSE
(Philippians 2:13).

One of the hardest things for me is to allow God to act in and through me according to His Good Purpose.  I always seem to want to do everything according to my good purpose.  It is so hard to think that God’s Good Purpose will be better than mine.

The problem with working out my good purpose is that it gives me no rest.  I strive a lot.  I worry a lot.  In the end, things do not even work out.

THEREFORE, SINCE THE PROMISE OF ENTERING HIS REST STILL STANDS, LET US BE CAREFUL THAT NONE OF YOU BE FOUND TO HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF IT. FOR WE ALSO HAVE HAD THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO US, JUST AS THEY DID; BUT THE MESSAGE THEY HEARD WAS OF NO VALUE TO THEM, BECAUSE THOSE WHO HEARD DID NOT COMBINE IT WITH FAITH
(Hebrews 4:1-2).

The promise of entering God’s Rest still stands, but it has to be combined with Faith—believing that God can do His job to will in you and act in you according to His Good Purpose. This means that God will give you the necessary desires to act according to His Will, all the time, throughout your life, until His Purpose is completed in your life.

THERE REMAINS, THEN, A SABBATH-REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD; FOR ANYONE WHO ENTERS GOD’S REST ALSO RESTS FROM HIS OWN WORK, JUST AS GOD DID FROM HIS
(Hebrews 4:9-10).

I bless you to make every effort to enter into God’s Rest.  Understand that anyone who enters God’s Rest rests from his own striving.  He asks God to exchanges his good purpose…for God’s Good Purpose. He combines his decision with Faith.

FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT
(2 Corinthians 5:7).

Why are you striving so hard? What are you trying to achieve?

What is keeping you from coming into God’s rest, in Faith—to set your striving aside and allow God to will and act in your life, according to His Good Purpose?

PRAYER: May you be willing to pray this prayer with Major Ian Thomas, “Lord Jesus, I am willing for You to invade my soul, to control my mind, to control my emotions, and to control my will, so that every decision within my soul will be in perfect harmony with my spirit, and my spirit in perfect harmony with You, so that my whole being may declare Your praise.” Do this in combination with Faith.

Maintain an Awareness

Discipline, the training to enter God’s Holiness, cannot be exercised AFTER we have already entered a route of escape to resort to a sinful solution.

Let Light Shine out of Darkness

BUT IF YOUR EYE IS BAD, YOUR WHOLE BODY WILL BE FULL OF DARKNESS. IF THEREFORE THE LIGHT THAT IS IN YOU IS DARKNESS, HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS!
(Matthew 6:23).

Is the light that is in you darkness? How great must your darkness be, then! I know how this darkness feels. It used to live in my mind and my heart, too, in the form of the OLD MAN—the set of oppressing beliefs “I am guilty!”  I learned that this darkness could not be improved. It had to be replaced…with the NEW MAN, Jesus Christ. When He knocked the OLD MAN in my heart off its throne and took its place, the darkness in me was replaced with the Light that shone from the Person of the Lord Jesus, the NEW MAN. Any darkness that tried to come into me, after that, was overcome by the Light in me.

THEREFORE TAKE HEED THAT THE LIGHT WHICH IS IN YOU IS NOT DARKNESS
(Luke 11:35).

Beloved, if you live from the dark core of guilt, everything in you and everything around you will be covered in darkness, too. When you live in the set of negative, destructive beliefs of the OLD MAN: “I am guilty!” your eye will be bad, too. Since the light that is shining from you is guilt, you will see everything and everyone through the lenses of condemnation, abandonment, rejection, and shame.

If your eye is contaminated with speckles of abandonment and rejection, you will look at everything through the lenses of feeling alone, unprotected, and overlooked.  If your eye is polluted with blotches of condemnation, you will experience everything and everybody through the lenses of feeling doomed, wronged, and incriminated.  If your eye is smeared with streaks of shame, you will view everything and everyone through the lenses of shortcoming and impropriety.

FOR GOD, WHO SAID, ‘LET LIGHT SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS’ MADE HIS LIGHT SHINE IN OUR HEARTS TO GIVE US THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF CHRIST
(2 Corinthians 4:6).

But, there is Hope. There is Light. My name is Jesus Christ. I will knock the OLD MAN of guilt that lives in your heart off its throne, and take its place as the NEW MAN…if you invite Me in. When I live in your heart, the light that is in you is My Light. It is the Light of a Person. My Presence will shine on everything in you and everything around you. You will feel like a new person with a new eye. Instead of seeing condemnation, abandonment, shame, and rejection, you will see and experience My Hope, My Love, and My Truth in you and around you.

If the light that is in you is Light, how blessed you are. You have submitted the dark core of guilt in you to the Lord Jesus…to be replaced with His Person and His Light.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, come into my heart as a Person and replace the guilt that is in me with Your Light, so I may live in Your Light and experience Your Hope, Your Love, and Your Truth.

Maintain an Awareness

Many of these untrue childhood conclusions grouped together to raise a spirit of defilement in us—the OLD MAN mentality that duped us into thinking we were doomed and damned, for life.

God Loves to Reward Us

ANYONE WHO COMES TO HIM MUST BELIEVE THAT HE EXISTS AND THAT HE REWARDS THOSE WHO EARNESTLY SEEK HIM
(Hebrews 11:6).

The Perfect Father loves to reward us—to reward us with His Presence.  I have come face to face with His Truth when I felt lost.  I have experienced His Wisdom when I felt confused.  I have tasted His Love when I felt forsaken.  I have drunk from His streams of Living Water when I felt pushed aside.  I have received His abundant Life when I felt depressed.  I have witnessed His Light in my darkness.  I have seen His transforming Power in my weakness. But, I had to invite Him into my heart with all its feelings and beliefs, first, before I was able to see, hear, and experience His rewards. I had to lift my eyes up to the Hills.

‘BECAUSE HE LOVES ME,’ SAYS THE LORD, ‘I WILL RESCUE HIM; I WILL PROTECT HIM, FOR HE ACKNOWLEDGES MY NAME.  HE WILL CALL UPON ME, AND I WILL ANSWER HIM; I WILL BE WITH HIM IN TROUBLE, I WILL DELIVER HIM AND HONOR HIM.  WITH LONG LIFE WILL I SATISFY HIM AND SHOW HIM MY SALVATION’
(Psalm 91:14-16).

Precious One, I, the Most High, want to be your God. I want to reveal My Presence to you when you are in trouble.  I want to deliver you when you feel hopeless, helpless, and powerless.  I want to honor you.  I want to rescue you from the darkness that came to destroy you. I want to protect you from evil.  I want to talk to you. But, you need to call upon Me.  You need to invite Me into YOUR heart with all its feelings and beliefs, first, in order to see, hear, and experience the rewards I have for you. You need to lift your eyes up to the Hills.

 IF GOD IS FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?
(Romans 8:31).

Believe that all these rewards and many more await you…if you lift your eyes up to the Hills.

I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES TO THE HILLS—FROM WHENCE COMES MY HELP? MY HELP COMES FROM THE LORD, WHO MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH. HE WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR FOOT TO BE MOVED
(Psalm 121:1-3).

What do you need from God: Wisdom, Righteousness, Love, Hope, Truth, Comfort, Power, Life, or Light?

Lift your eyes up to the Hills. Invite God’s Presence and Participation into your sadness, your despair, your loss, and your trouble. He will come into your heart and perform a miracle. He will conquer the evil that is trying to destroy you. He will reward you with His Presence.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I lift my eyes up to the Hills—to You who made Heaven, and earth…and me. I invite You into my heart with all its feelings and beliefs. Come and rescue me. Come and protect me. Come and deliver me.

Maintain an Awareness

Do not go to the Scriptures to read them only. Go to them with the intention to seek and experience the Light through them.

Love Never Fails

PRAISE THE LORD, O MY SOUL, AND FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS
(Psalm 103:2).

Realize that one of the benefits of living a life surrendered to God…is Love.

BUT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE
(Galatians 5:22).

Know that Love is not a change of attitude towards someone from the outside.  Love is a fruit of God’s Spirit that grows from the inside.  Love is a by-product of your surrender to God.

LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND. IT DOES NOT ENVY, IT DOES NOT BOAST, IT IS NOT PROUD. IT IS NOT RUDE, IT IS NOT SELF-SEEKING, IT IS NOT EASILY ANGERED, IT KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS. LOVE DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL BUT REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH
(1 Corinthians 13:4-6).

Beloved Child, understand that if your love is not patient, it is not Love grown by My Spirit.  This counterfeit love loves on the outside, but hates on the inside.  Love that is grown by My Holy Spirit is kind from the inside out.  It does not envy on the inside, while it boasts on the outside.  It is not Self-seeking on the inside, while it is kind on the outside.  The only love that keeps no record of wrongs is the Love that is a by-product of your surrender to Me, the Most High.

LOVE NEVER FAILS. IT ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERES
(1 Corinthians 13:8, 7).

Has your love failed? Does it only seek to benefit and protect your Self? Love that is a fruit of My Spirit is not Self-seeking. Its goal is to protect. Love that is a by-product of My Spirit always protects the person you love, even when the person becomes rude and disrespectful. My Love never fails. It always trusts, even when the person you love keeps a record of wrongs against you. My Love through My Spirit is not easily angered. It always perseveres, even when the person you love has failed and betrayed you.

What kind of love lives inside your heart—love that is Self-seeking, or Love that is a by-product of your surrender to God?

Ask God to grow His Love in your heart—the kind that never fails.

PRAYER: Lord God, I desire to carry Your Love in my heart—the kind of Love that is grown by Your Holy Spirit of Truth. Therefore, call me, every day, to surrender my love to You, so You may turn it into Your Love that always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres—Your Love that never fails.

Maintain an Awareness

When you pray and lay your problem before God, give Him the freedom to answer you in any way He wants to, according to His great Mercy and Grace. Push your own preconceived answers aside. Then, HIS Answer will enter your mind and heart.

Bitter Jealous

Success Is a By-Product

YET WHEN I SURVEYED ALL THAT MY HANDS HAD DONE AND WHAT I HAD TOILED TO ACHIEVE, EVERYTHING WAS MEANINGLESS, A CHASING AFTER THE WIND; NOTHING WAS GAINED UNDER THE SUN
(Ecclesiastes 2:11).

At the end of my life, when I survey all that my hands have done and what I have toiled to achieve, I would like to see that everything was not meaningless—a chasing after the wind.  I would like to see that something permanent was gained under the sun.

AND I SAW THAT ALL LABOR AND ALL ACHIEVEMENT SPRING FROM MAN’S ENVY OF HIS NEIGHBOR. THIS TOO IS MEANINGLESS, A CHASING AFTER THE WIND
(Ecclesiastes 4:4).

At the end of my life, when I survey all that I have toiled to achieve, I would like to see that no achievement sprang from my envy of my neighbor.  This would have been meaningless toiling—a chasing after the wind.  Nothing would have been gained under the sun.

What is the reason you take on a certain activity or service?  Is it to prove to yourself that you are as good as your neighbor?  Why are you striving so hard to be successful?  Is it to prove to your family, your friends, and your co-workers that you are worthy and acceptable in the eyes of people and of God?

I KNOW THAT EVERYTHING GOD DOES WILL ENDURE FOREVER; NOTHING CAN BE ADDED TO IT AND NOTHING TAKEN FROM IT. GOD DOES IT SO THAT MEN WILL REVERE HIM
(Ecclesiastes 3:14).

I bless you to grasp that everything God does is permanent.  Everything God does through you will endure forever.  Nobody will be able to add to that or take away from that.  Success is only a by-product of your surrender to God.

DON’T AIM AT SUCCESS.  FOR SUCCESS CANNOT BE PURSUED, IT MUST ENSUE, AND IT DOES SO AS THE UNINTENDED SIDE-EFFECT OF ONE’S DEDICATION TO A CAUSE GREATER THAN ONESELF OR AS THE BY-PRODUCT OF ONE’S SURRENDER TO A PERSON OTHER THAN ONESELF

What would you like to see at the end of your life, when you survey all you have toiled to achieve?

PRAYER: Lord God, may my life belong to You, so You may do through me what will last forever.

Each Moment Is an Act of Deciding

My life changed drastically when I realized that life was not just a solid time period here on this earth for which I had to make ONE BIG DECISION, but chopped up into little segments of time periods, for which I had to make many individual MOMENT-BY-MOMENT DECISIONS.

THIS DAY I CALL HEAVEN AND EARTH AS WITNESSES AGAINST YOU THAT I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU LIFE AND DEATH, BLESSINGS AND CURSES. NOW CHOOSE LIFE, SO THAT YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN MAY LIVE AND THAT YOU MAY LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD, LISTEN TO HIS VOICE, AND HOLD FAST TO HIM. FOR THE LORD IS YOUR LIFE
(Deuteronomy 30:19-20).

Realize that your whole life is a moment-by-moment choice between Life and death.  Every moment of your life is an act of deciding between the blessings of God and the curses of the father-of-lies.  Every minute you are alive, you live either in the Light or in darkness.  Every hour of your life, you are either living in Truth or in deception.

DO NOT OFFER THE PARTS OF YOUR BODY TO SIN, AS INSTRUMENTS OF WICKEDNESS, BUT RATHER OFFER YOURSELVES TO GOD, AS THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN BROUGHT FROM DEATH TO LIFE; AND OFFER THE PARTS OF YOUR BODY TO HIM AS INSTRUMENTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
(Romans 6:13).

Realize that each moment of your life you are selecting a choice of action.  Every given moment of your life, you live either in obedience to the Perfect Father, or in obedience to the father-of-lies.  Each given moment, you either adopt the father-of-lies’ suggestions of escaping your heartache, or adopt the Perfect Father’s suggestions of dealing with your heartache.

Realize that each moment is an act of deciding whether God’s Hope, Love, and Truth will be manifested in you, or whether the god of this world’s hopelessness, hatred, and deception will be displayed in you.

May you realize that life is made up of many choices and even if you made the wrong decision, one moment, you can make the right decision, the next moment.  I bless you to choose Life, every moment.

Maintain an Awareness

The father-of-lies opposes God’s Counsel by telling us the exact opposite of what God says. His deception provides the pink slippery world in our minds that do not make sense.
