Prayer Is A Place to Hide

WHERE CAN I GO FROM YOUR SPIRIT?
WHERE CAN I FLEE FROM YOUR PRESENCE?
IF I GO UP TO THE HEAVENS, YOU ARE THERE;
IF I MAKE MY BED IN THE DEPTHS, YOU ARE THERE.
IF I RISE ON THE WINGS OF THE DAWN,
IF I SETTLE ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE SEA,
EVEN THERE YOUR HAND WILL GUIDE ME,
YOUR RIGHT HAND WILL HOLD ME FAST.
IF I SAY, ‘SURELY THE DARKNESS WILL HIDE ME
AND THE LIGHT BECOME NIGHT AROUND ME,’
EVEN THE DARKNESS WILL NOT BE DARK TO YOU;
THE NIGHT WILL SHINE LIKE THE DAY,
FOR DARKNESS IS AS LIGHT TO YOU
(Psalm 139:7-12).

The other day, I felt stuck.  I felt lost.  I felt anxious.  There was pain in my heart—all kinds of pain: sorrow…fear…despair.  Negative, destructive beliefs were bombarding the tender walls of my heart: “There is no answer. You are stuck with your problem. You are going to die.”  I wanted to hide.  But where?  Where could I hide where the negative, destructive beliefs of the father-of-lies would not find me?  Where could I hide from sorrow, fear, and despair?

And then the Answer spoke, “My Child, I have a hiding place for you—PRAYER!  You can hide in prayer.  Prayer is available to you everywhere, because I am everywhere.  Even if you run away and settle far away from everyone, I am there.  You can pray.  In your work, I am there.  In your sleep, I am there. You can pray.  Even if you hide in the dark dungeons of despair, I am there.  You can pray.  And I will answer!”

IN MY DISTRESS I CRIED UNTO THE LORD, AND HE HEARD ME
(Psalm 120:1).

I bless you to be comforted.  You are never without help.  You do not have to be anxious, for you are never stuck or lost.  God’s Presence is everywhere.  All you need to do…is PRAY!

DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERY SITUATION, BY PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD
(Philippians 4:6).

What part of your heart is stuck, right now? Which problem is too big for you to handle? What makes you feel anxious, lost, and frozen with fear? Remember…you can pray right where you are. God is here.

PRAYER: Majesty, thank you that You are in this place of fear…of despair…of darkness. Even if I cannot see You, You can see me. Thank you that there is no place on Heaven or on earth that is hidden from You, Lord, and that is void of Your Presence…even this place. Thank you that You are here, right now. I lift my request up to You, for You hear me and help me.

Maintain an Awareness

Woe to us, the rebellious children, when we take counsel from the father-of-lies, and when we cover ourselves with coverings that are not from God. We will add sin to sin.
