The Calloused Heart of Bitterness

THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE TO SAY TO JOSEPH: I ASK YOU TO FORGIVE YOUR BROTHERS THE SINS AND THE WRONGS THEY COMMITTED IN TREATING YOU SO BADLY. NOW PLEASE FORGIVE THE SINS OF THE SERVANTS OF THE GOD OF YOUR FATHER WHEN THEIR MESSAGE CAME TO HIM, JOSEPH WEPT
(Genesis 50:17).

I bless you to forgive your husband, your wife, your father, your mother, your brother, your sister, and your child the sins and the wrongs they have done against you.  Stop holding them accountable for all the offenses they have committed against you.  Your bitterness will not heal you, nor will it help you.

Know that it is not your offender’s offenses that damaged your heart, but the negative, destructive beliefs you have adopted from the father-of-lies, “I am a failure…I am a disgrace…I am a victim.”  Your feelings of failure are not due to your offender’s wrongdoing, but due to the father-of-lies’ infringement on your heart.  Your disgrace is not due to your offender’s misdeeds, but due to the father-of-lies’ misdeed of deception against your heart.  You have been victimized by the father-of-lies…attacked by God’s enemy…run down by the roaring lion.

THERE WILL BE NO MERCY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SHOWN MERCY TO OTHERS. BUT IF YOU HAVE BEEN MERCIFUL, GOD WILL BE MERCIFUL WHEN HE JUDGES YOU
(James 2:13).

Beloved Child, I want you to understand that bitterness causes a calloused heart—a heart that is turned away from My Love, Hope, and Truth, lest it be healed. A calloused heart is only focused on the offender who caused him harm, instead of acknowledging the role the negative, destructive beliefs from the father-of-lies played during the offense. I, the Most High, want you to know that people can make you their target—someone to use and abuse—but they can never turn you into a victim—someone who is worthless, helpless, and powerless. The only person who can turn you into a victim…is you, when you believe the father-of-lies. A target is someone you become on the outside because of another’s sin. A victim is someone you become on the inside because of your own sin—bowing down to the father-of-lies. When you are someone’s target, seek help. When you have become a victim, seek My Truth. I will heal you.

FOR THIS PEOPLE’S HEART HAS BECOME CALLOUSED; THEY HARDLY HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES. OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT SEE WITH THEIR EYES, HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEARTS AND TURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM
(Acts 28:27).

How are you treating your offenders: with malice…or with mercy? What are you trying to achieve? Why?

What will it take for you to forgive those who have treated you so badly, and turn to God to heal your heart from the real offender—the father-of-lies?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I turn to You, so You may heal me of my victim spirit.
