Misunderstandings

I had a conversation with my husband, the other day, during which I was a bit emotional.  I was not mad, or sad, or bad.  My emotions just got carried away in my eagerness to make my point.  My husband took my emotional eagerness as an attack on him.  In turn, that hurt my feelings.  I felt misunderstood and accused of being a bad person.  I felt condemned.

However, my husband and I have learned to recognize the father-of-lies and his deceitful ways, during our conversations—that he kills, steals, and destroys…through our CONCLUSIONS.

THE THIEF COMES ONLY TO STEAL AND KILL AND DESTROY; I HAVE COME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE, AND HAVE IT TO THE FULL
(John 10:10).

Be on the alert during your conversations.  Your adversary is prowling around, looking for an opening to fill your mind with his negative, destructive CONCLUSIONS: that you are bad…guilty…condemned. He uses these beliefs to kill your love, steal your joy, and destroy your relationships.

THE MIND OF SINFUL MAN IS DEATH, BUT THE MIND CONTROLLED BY THE SPIRIT IS LIFE AND PEACE
(Romans 8:6).

Know that you cannot trust your own mind, because you are not the only one using it.  The father-of-lies has access to your thoughts, to fill it with his own CONCLUSIONS whenever he gets a chance…especially during conversations.  He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth.

TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING; IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE WILL MAKE YOUR PATHS STRAIGHT
(Proverbs 3:5).

Don’t believe everything you think. It is a trap. Instead, yield your CONCLUSIONS to God’s Truth, during your conversations.  When your mind is controlled by the Spirit, your conversations will end in Life and Peace.

Do your conversations end in Life and Peace? If not, check your conclusions. Are they from the Spirit of Truth…or from the father-of-lies?

PRAYER: Lord God, today, I pray for my conversations. Remind me, every day, to invite Your Presence and Participation into the conclusions I make during my conversations, so that the father-of-lies would have no opportunity to lure me into his negative, destructive beliefs that are not true. May my mind be controlled by Your Spirit, so I may have Life and Peace.

Maintain an Awareness

It is very important that you understand that it is not so much what happened to you during your childhood that affected you the most, BUT WHAT YOU CAME TO BELIEVE ABOUT YOUR SELF, OTHERS, AND GOD, IN RESPONSE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES (facts) of your childhood life.
