The Desire to Please

DON’T YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU OFFER YOURSELVES TO SOMEONE TO OBEY HIM AS SLAVES, YOU ARE SLAVES TO THE ONE WHOM YOU OBEY—WHETHER YOU ARE SLAVES TO SIN, WHICH LEADS TO DEATH, OR TO OBEDIENCE, WHICH LEADS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS?
(Romans 6:16).

Have you ever heard someone say, “You are only doing this or that to please God, but God cannot be pleased since He is already pleased”?

It is true that God is already pleased through the Life of His Son, Jesus; however, God wants the Life of His Son to live in YOU as well. God furnished you with the desire to please, so you would allow His Son to please Him through YOUR spirit, YOUR soul, and YOUR body. On the other hand, the father-of-lies has seized your desire to please for his own purpose—to live his oppressing life in you and through you.

BUT NOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN AND HAVE BECOME SLAVES TO GOD, THE BENEFIT YOU REAP LEADS TO HOLINESS, AND THE RESULT IS ETERNAL LIFE
(Romans 6:22).

In other words, whom you please during this joyous season depends on the spirit that inhabits and controls your life—the Spirit of Jesus…or the spirit of the father-of-lies. Know that if you offer your life to God as His property, bound to Him in servitude, the Lord Jesus will live His Holy Life in you and through you. He will please the Perfect Father through you.

BUT YOU KNOW THAT HE APPEARED SO THAT HE MIGHT TAKE AWAY OUR SINS. AND IN HIM IS NO SIN.  NO ONE WHO LIVES IN HIM KEEPS ON SINNING. NO ONE WHO CONTINUES TO SIN HAS EITHER SEEN HIM OR KNOWN HIM
(1 John 3:5-6).

Whom do you live to please—the Perfect Father or the father-of-lies?

To whom have you offered your life as a means to inhabit and control, this Christmas season—the Lord Jesus or the OLD MAN? What benefits do you reap, daily, from your choice?

PRAYER: Perfect Father, I desire to please You, during this holiday season. Therefore, I offer my life to You as a sacrifice, Lord Jesus. Come and live Your holy Life in my mind, heart, and spirit to please the Perfect Father through me.

Maintain an Awareness

We now have a moment-by-moment choice: to live our daily lives the way we always have, under the reign of the OLD MAN, or to allow the Lord Jesus to live His NEW MAN Life is us.

Despair That Will Change Your Life

FOR I KNOW THAT IN ME (THAT IS, IN MY FLESH,) DWELLETH NO GOOD THING: FOR TO WILL IS PRESENT WITH ME; BUT HOW TO PERFORM THAT WHICH IS GOOD I FIND NOT
(Romans 7:18).

If you have come to the place where you realize that you have the desire to do what is good, but no power to carry it out…BE BLESSED!

If you have come to the place where you realize that you have a nature in which nothing good lives…BE BLESSED!

If you have come to the place where you realize that you have failed to practice the good deeds you desired to do, but the evil deeds you did not want to do were what you accomplished…BE BLESSED!

FOR THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE [WHICH IS] IN CHRIST JESUS [THE LAW OF OUR NEW BEING] HAS FREED ME FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND OF DEATH.  FOR GOD HAS DONE WHAT THE LAW COULD NOT DO, [ITS POWER] BEING WEAKENED BY THE FLESH [THE ENTIRE NATURE OF MAN WITHOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT].  SENDING HIS OWN SON IN THE GUISE OF SINFUL FLESH AND AS AN OFFERING FOR SIN, [GOD] CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH [SUBDUED, OVERCAME, DEPRIVED IT OF ITS POWER OVER ALL WHO ACCEPT THAT SACRIFICE]
(Romans 8:2-3 AMP).

You are blessed because you have come to an important place in your life—the place where you realize that you have a nature in you that functions without the Holy Spirit. You have come to realize that you need a new nature—a nature that functions within the Holy Spirit. You finally understand that you need THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT to save you from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH.

NO ONE WHO IS BORN OF GOD WILL CONTINUE TO SIN, BECAUSE GOD’S SEED REMAINS IN THEM; THEY CANNOT GO ON SINNING, BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN BORN OF GOD
(1 John 3:9).

Do not despair. The Lord Jesus is offering you His Nature this Christmas season—the Nature that functions within the Holy Spirit. Ask Him, in faith, to exchange your nature that functions without the Holy Spirit for His. Then, watch Him perform the good deeds you so desire to do and shun the evil deeds you never wanted to do in the first place.

How would you like to take advantage of the Law of the Spirit?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I have the will to do what is good, but no power to carry it out. I have come to the place in my life where I want something new—Someone New—to live in me in the place of my nature without the Holy Spirit. I invite You, this season, to be that Someone for me, in me, and through me.

Maintain an Awareness

This must be the hardest of all lessons to learn: to keep our eyes on the Eternal God during difficult circumstances, and trust that His everlasting arms are underneath us, holding us and keeping us safe.

Remove the Sting of Death

WHEN THE PERISHABLE HAS BEEN CLOTHED WITH THE IMPERISHABLE, AND THE MORTAL WITH IMMORTALITY, THEN THE SAYING THAT IS WRITTEN WILL COME TRUE: ‘DEATH HAS BEEN SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.’

‘WHERE, O DEATH, IS YOUR VICTORY? WHERE, O DEATH, IS YOUR STING?’
THE STING OF DEATH IS SIN, AND THE POWER OF SIN IS THE LAW. BUT THANKS BE TO GOD! HE GIVES US THE VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
(1Corinthians 15:54-57).

I have experienced the sting of death a few times. After the death of my daddy, the sting of death manifested as abandonment in my heart. With the death of my mother, it was fear. When my sister died, my heart was infused with rejection. When I looked closer at the sting of death, I discovered the father-of-lies behind it. When someone dies, he uses his negative, destructive beliefs (the same oppressing beliefs that cause us to sin) to fill our hearts with abandonment, condemnation, fear, shame, and rejection.

FOR THIS VERY REASON, CHRIST DIED AND RETURNED TO LIFE SO THAT HE MIGHT BE THE LORD OF BOTH THE DEAD AND THE LIVING
(Romans 14:9).

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, who came to remove the sting of death. When I embraced the negative, destructive belief that caused me to feel abandoned after my daddy’s death and exposed it to the Lord Jesus, He exchanged it for His Belonging in my heart. When I faced the sting my mother’s death caused—that I could not live without my family—God introduced me to His Family. When I invited the Presence and Participation of the Lord Jesus into the belief that I was forever cut off from my sister’s love after she died, He showed me that He was the Lord of the living as well as the dead. She was alive and well on the other side where the perishable was clothed with the imperishable, loving me, still, with all her heart. I was not rejected. “O death, where is your sting?”

SINCE THE CHILDREN HAVE FLESH AND BLOOD, HE TOO SHARED IN THEIR HUMANITY SO THAT BY HIS DEATH HE MIGHT BREAK THE POWER OF HIM WHO HOLDS THE POWER OF DEATH—THAT IS, THE DEVIL
(Hebrews 2:14).

Have you experienced the sting of death, maybe even at Christmas time?

What are the negative, destructive beliefs behind your sting of death? Are you willing to find these, lay them before the Lord Jesus, and ask Him for the Truth? If you do, He will remove the sting of death in your heart.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank you that You are the Lord of the living as well as the dead. By Your death You broke the power of him who holds the power of death. Come and remove the sting of death from my life, too, so I may enjoy this glorious season and rejoice in Your birth.

Keep Your Inner Peace

At one time I lived my life according to what was in front of me—according to the external circumstances I could see with my natural eyes. It felt as if I was living in a tunnel and the only light came from the opening in front. This is where my focus was—on the light at the end of the tunnel. There was no inner Peace. But one day God asked me to plug the opening at the end of the tunnel and turn my focus inward to what was unseen—His Words and His Visions that lived in my own heart. This would bring me Peace.

BLESSED IS SHE WHO HAS BELIEVED THAT WHAT THE LORD HAS SAID TO HER WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED!
(Luke 1:45).

Beloved, do not set your eyes on success that awaits you at the end of the tunnel. Do not look to your right and to your left at what others are doing. Do not stare at your circumstances. Instead, keep your eyes on My Words in your heart and set your eyes on the personal Visions I have given you. Focus on the daily, moment-by-moment tasks I have assigned you. Know that I will keep him in perfect Peace who trusts in Me; however, if you keep staring at the light at the end of the tunnel, you will lose this inner Peace.

THOU WILT KEEP HIM IN PERFECT PEACE, WHOSE MIND IS STAYED ON THEE: BECAUSE HE TRUSTETH IN THEE
(Isaiah 26:3).

 Capture that what is seen on the outside is temporary, but what God shows you in your heart is eternal.

SO WE FIX OUR EYES NOT ON WHAT IS SEEN, BUT ON WHAT IS UNSEEN. FOR WHAT IS SEEN IS TEMPORARY, BUT WHAT IS UNSEEN IS ETERNAL
(2 Corinthians 4:18).

On what are you focused: on what is seen…or on what is unseen?

PRAYER: May I refrain from setting my eyes on success at the end of the tunnel, but instead set my eyes on You, O Lord. May I focus on the daily, moment-by-moment tasks You have given me. Then, Your Peace will reign in my heart.

Christ-in-You—Your Hope of Glory

TO WHOM GOD WOULD MAKE KNOWN WHAT IS THE RICHES OF THE GLORY OF THIS MYSTERY AMONG THE GENTILES; WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY
(Colossians 1:27).

When I was a teenager, my cousin asked me to do something inappropriate and sinful. I refused. Then, in revenge, he laid a charge on me: “You are so bad. Because you have refused to do what I asked you, I will never help you again with anything. From now on you are on your own.” This charge stuck to my heart, causing a lot of condemnation, abandonment, and rejection.

I brought this charge—the hostile criticism—to God. Not only did I submit the FACTS of this charge to Him, but also my EMOTIONS, and my CONCLUSIONS—that this charge left me broken…incomplete…imperfect.

Then, the Lord Jesus, beaten and crucified, showed me the Truth: “I understand how you feel, Child. They did this to Me, as well. When I did not want to comply to their wishes, they laid a charge on Me—that I am a criminal. But, you know, that charge did not stick to Me. It was only something done to Me on the outside. On the inside, I am still intact…complete…whole, because I am God. No matter what charge people laid on you, remember, you are whole on the inside, because I live in you. They can do nothing to Me in you. I am your Hope of Glory.”

THERE IS THEREFORE NOW NO CONDEMNATION TO THEM WHICH ARE IN CHRIST JESUS, WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH, BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT.  FOR THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS HATH MADE ME FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH
(Romans 8:1-2).

I bless you, this glorious season, to let go of the charge that was laid on you. Give it to the Lord Jesus who was born to live His Life in you. He knows how to handle a charge. He has done it before. He is your Hope of Glory.

WHOM WE PREACH, WARNING EVERY MAN, AND TEACHING EVERY MAN IN ALL WISDOM; THAT WE MAY PRESENT EVERY MAN PERFECT IN CHRIST JESUS
(Colossians 1:28).

What charge has been laid on you? What has it done to your heart? What are you going to do about it?

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord Jesus that You are perfect…and that You are perfect in me. I submit the charge that has been laid on me to You. How encouraged I am that You know how to handle a charge. You are my Hope of Glory, this Christmas season.

Have Your Heart Returned to You

THE THIEF COMETH NOT, BUT FOR TO STEAL, AND TO KILL, AND TO DESTROY
(John 10:10).

Have you noticed that the father-of-lies has declared war against your heart?  The thief has come to take the property that belongs to another, and put it out of existence.

As a little girl, I adored my sister.  Being six years younger than she was, I spent a lot of effort trying to be like her. But, she was not always fair towards me. I remember one incident during my childhood when I asked her a simple question. On that day she chose not to answer me…deliberately.  No matter how many times I addressed her, she randomly decided not to respond or even acknowledge that I was talking to her.

It was a perfect set-up for the thief to take my heart and put it out of existence.  The father-of-lies used my sister’s stubbornness to introduce a killer thought: “You were randomly chosen to be rejected by your sister, by others, AND BY GOD.”  Then, he added, “There is NOTHING you can do to ever become part of God’s chosen ones, because you are an outsider, excluded from God’s Kingdom of Light, Love, and Life.”

I held onto this belief for thirty years, until the Perfect Father called me to a new Life.

I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE, AND THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY
(John 10:10).

God showed me that it was not the deliberate act of unfairness committed against me by my sister, but the deliberate act of hatred committed against me by the father-of-lies that put my heart out of existence. He showed me that there WAS something I could do to receive God’s Light, Love, and Life—I could invite the Lord Jesus to return my stolen heart to me! With this heart, I could then receive His abundant Life.

What are the beliefs that put YOUR heart out of existence? 

Will you consider bringing these beliefs to the Lord Jesus, so He may give your heart back to you?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, remind me, daily, that it is my responsibility to surrender my pain to You, in order for You to return my heart to me! I submit my childhood incidences of unfairness to You, Lord God—the times when I was ignored, rejected, and eliminated on purpose.

Thank you, my Lord, that You have redeemed these incidences and their consequential beliefs from the father-of-lies, on the cross. The father-of-lies came to destroy my heart, but You came to give me back my heart.

Awaken to Righteousness

WOE TO THE REBELLIOUS CHILDREN, SAITH THE LORD, THAT TAKE COUNSEL, BUT NOT OF ME; AND THAT COVER WITH A COVERING, BUT NOT OF MY SPIRIT, THAT THEY MAY ADD SIN TO SIN
(Isaiah 30:1).

There were times during past Christmas seasons when I had been ashamed of myself.  I felt ashamed of my actions: saying certain things I should not have said…doing certain things I should not have done.  I said and did these things to cover the pain of the nagging voices in my heart that accused me of being unacceptable, unloved, and unimportant.  Reacting to the OLD MAN, the set of destructive beliefs instilled in me by the father-of-lies, I covered my pain with a covering that was not of God’s Spirit.  I sinned.

Sometimes, we run in circles, chasing our own tails.  The OLD MAN beliefs in our minds accuse us of being unacceptable, unloved, and unimportant, which calls for sinful behavior to cover this pain, which causes us to be ashamed for being rebellious. We received and obeyed counsel that was not from God; therefore, our own misdeeds turned around and bit us in the heel.

IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS, AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS
(1 John 1:9).

I bless you to believe that the Perfect Father sent you His Son to forgive you your sins.  But, that is not all–He did MORE.  He sent His Son to reverse the cycle of sin; He awakened you to a new covering—His Righteousness.

AWAKE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND SIN NOT
(1 Corinthians 15:34).

Therefore, I remind you, this Christmas season, of your obligation—to take your counsel from the Spirit of Truth instead of from the father-of-lies.  Next time you feel accused of being unworthy, unacceptable, or unimportant, surrender these OLD MAN beliefs to the Lord Jesus. Do not take cover under a covering that is not from God; instead, ask Him for His Truth. When you do this, you allow the Lord Jesus to cover you with His own Righteousness.

With what sinful defense coverings do you cover the negative, destructive beliefs of feeling unimportant, unloved, and unacceptable?

What would it take for you to confess these coverings to the Lord Jesus, and ask Him to cover you with His Righteousness, instead?

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord Jesus, that You came to reverse the cycle of sin in me by awakening me to a new covering—Your Righteousness.

Maintain an Awareness

We need to make sure that we expect Truth from the Spirit of Truth, who goes out from the Perfect Father, and not try to come up with our own counterfeit truth by logically trying to reason things out for ourselves.

Why Are You so Afraid of the Storm?

WITHOUT WARNING, A FURIOUS STORM CAME UP ON THE LAKE, SO THAT THE WAVES SWEPT OVER THE BOAT.  BUT JESUS WAS SLEEPING.  THE DISCIPLES WENT AND WOKE HIM, SAYING, ‘LORD, SAVE US! WE’RE GOING TO DROWN!’  HE REPLIED, ‘YOU OF LITTLE FAITH, WHY ARE YOU SO AFRAID?’ THEN HE GOT UP AND REBUKED THE WINDS AND THE WAVES, AND IT WAS COMPLETELY CALM
(Matthew 8:24-26).

What did Jesus do when His circumstances got rough?  What did Jesus do when things stopped working according to His expectations?  What did Jesus do while everybody else was panicking and looking for a way out of their dilemmas?

BUT JESUS WAS SLEEPING

Why was Jesus sleeping during the storm?

Dear Child, I was sleeping during the storm, because I knew My Father—the Perfect Father.  I knew My Father, because I was ONE with Him. I was completely surrendered to Him to belong to Him and His Purpose only. My life was in My Father’s hands. My will belonged to Him, too. So did My spirit, soul, and body. Therefore, I lived in Peace during the storms. I lived in Joy during the dilemmas. I lived in Faith during hopeless situations. I lived in Hope in the midst of darkness…because I was ONE with My Father.

THAT THEY ALL MAY BE ONE; AS THOU, FATHER, ART IN ME, AND I IN THEE, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE ONE IN US
(John 17:21).

Did you know that you can become ONE with the Perfect Father, too? Through Me, Jesus, you can unite with Him, so you may experience Peace, Joy, Faith, and Hope in your storms…your dilemmas…your hopeless situations.

YOU OF LITTLE FAITH, WHY ARE YOU SO AFRAID?

Why are you so afraid? Do you not know the Perfect Father?

I bless you to become one with the Father through the Lord Jesus. Surrender your life to Him and HIS Purpose. Don’t wait until you are healed, or blessed, or successful. Surrender your life to Him the way it is, right now, along with your sicknesses, your pain, your disappointments, and your weaknesses. Then, wait and see what happens.

TRUST IN HIM AT ALL TIMES; YE PEOPLE, POUR OUT YOUR HEART BEFORE HIM: GOD IS A REFUGE FOR US
(Psalm 62:80).

PRAYER: Perfect Father, receive my life, just the way it is with all its weaknesses, sicknesses, pain, and disappointments. Have Your Way with me, Lord God. Fulfill YOUR Purpose in me.

Know that you cannot be a friend of the Light and be a friend of darkness, at the same time. Darkness and Light do not mix. They are incompatible. You are either in the dark, or in the light.

Your Father Rewards

BUT WHEN YOU PRAY, GO INTO YOUR ROOM, CLOSE THE DOOR AND PRAY TO YOUR FATHER, WHO IS UNSEEN.  THEN YOUR FATHER, WHO SEES WHAT IS DONE IN SECRET, WILL REWARD YOU.  AND WHEN YOU PRAY, DO NOT KEEP ON BABBLING LIKE PAGANS, FOR THEY THINK THEY WILL BE HEARD BECAUSE OF THEIR MANY WORDS
(Matthew 6:6-7).

 You have a Perfect Father in Heaven who cares about you this Christmas season. He sent the Holy Spirit—the Comforter—to live in you, so He could tell the Father what you need at all times. The Spirit intercedes for you in accordance with the Father’s Will.

IN THE SAME WAY, THE SPIRIT HELPS US IN OUR WEAKNESS. WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE OUGHT TO PRAY FOR, BUT THE SPIRIT HIMSELF INTERCEDES FOR US THROUGH WORDLESS GROANS. AND HE WHO SEARCHES OUR HEARTS KNOWS THE MIND OF THE SPIRIT, BECAUSE THE SPIRIT INTERCEDES FOR GOD’S PEOPLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WILL OF GOD
(Romans 8:26-27).

Precious Child, come to Me, your Perfect Father, during this Christmas season.  When you pray, do not just babble empty words as if I do not listen to you and do not hear your heart. Instead, when you pray, unite with the Holy Spirit in you who is interceding for you according to My Will. Listen to the Words He is praying for you, so you may join Him in His prayer for you. Because you will be praying with Him according to My Will, every request you submit will be heard.  I, your Perfect Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

AND I WILL PRAY THE FATHER, AND HE SHALL GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER, THAT HE MAY ABIDE WITH YOU FOR EVER
(John 14:16).

Are you aware of the Comforter in you—the Holy Spirit who intercedes for you according to God’s Will? Have you ever tuned in to His prayers and found out what they are all about?

If you want God to answer your prayers, you need to pray according to His Will. The Comforter knows His Will and He knows your heart. When you pray, become quiet, first…and listen. Find out how the Spirit is interceding for you, in your own heart. This might take some practice, but eventually, you will stop babbling and learn to hear the prayers of the Spirit. Then, join Him to pray according to God’s Will.

PRAYER: Perfect Father, thank you that You care about me, this Christmas. Thank you that I am not alone, but that You have sent me the Comforter to be in and with me, forever. Help me to listen to how the Spirit is praying for me, so I may join Him. Remind me, each time I pray, that it is not my many words that count, but the Words of the Comforter who is interceding for me according to Your Will.

There is someone who came to bring Heaven to earth, into your troubled heart, into your dark mind, into your dead spirit, into your disease-ridden body, and into your broken life. His name is Jesus Christ, the Perfect Father’s Son.

The Kingdom of Light

IN WHOM THE GOD OF THIS WORLD HATH BLINDED THE MINDS OF THEM WHICH BELIEVE NOT, LEST THE LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, SHOULD SHINE UNTO THEM
(2 Corinthians 4:4).

The father-of-lies is keeping many things hidden from you: God’s Truth, God’s Righteousness, and God’s Redemption.  It is the father-of-lies’ goal to keep you in darkness—to keep you meditating on his negative, destructive beliefs of abandonment, shame, rejection, and condemnation—so you would not share in the Kingdom of Light.  He hides everything God has to offer you, lest the Light of the glorious Gospel of Christ should shine on you this Christmas season.

GIVING THANKS TO THE FATHER, WHO HAS QUALIFIED YOU TO SHARE IN THE INHERITANCE OF THE SAINTS IN THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT.  FOR HE HAS RESCUED US FROM THE DOMINION OF DARKNESS AND BROUGHT US INTO THE KINGDOM OF THE SON HE LOVES

The Perfect Father sent the Light of His Son to shine in your heart during this season of Glory; therefore, you do not have to live in darkness anymore. He has qualified you to share in the Kingdom of Light.

LIVING IN THE LIGHT, AS GOD IS IN THE LIGHT
(1 John 1:7).

Do you want to be rescued from the darkness that has been surrounding you? Then, it is your responsibility to stop having fellowship with the darkness. The darkness will not leave as long as you nurture the father-of-lies’ negative, destructive beliefs of abandonment, shame, rejection, and condemnation in your heart. But, if you expose these beliefs to the Light, you will see what the father-of-lies does not want you to see: God’s Truth, God’s Righteousness, and God’s Redemption.

How often do you have fellowship with the darkness—meditating on the negative, destructive beliefs of the father-of-lies?

Come and live in the Light, as God is in the Light. Come and share in the inheritance of the saints. Then, you will be rescued from the dominion of darkness.

PRAYER: Thank you Father that You have qualified me to share in the Kingdom of Light—the Kingdom of Your Son. Remind me, every day, that I do not have to live according to the negative, destructive beliefs of the father-of-lies, for You have rescued me from the dominion of darkness.

Maintain an Awareness

So, yes, the deepest urge in human nature seems to be the desire to be important–to matter. But, it is not the PRINCIPLE of wanting to be important that is wrong; instead, it is the way we adapt or the means we adopt to meet this most urgent desire of our hearts.
