Not FOR Him but FROM Him

FOR FROM HIM…ARE ALL THINGS
(Romans 11:36).

There is a big difference between living a life FOR God, as opposed to living a life FROM God. A life for God means I AM SOMETHING and I need to strive to become something MORE—something BETTER and something BIGGER.  A life from God means that I AM NOTHING and I ALLOW GOD ALONE TO BE SOMEONE IN ME AND THROUGH ME.

APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING
(John 15:5).

Do you struggle with perfectionism?  Do you expect yourself and those around you to be perfect: being entirely without fault and defect…satisfying all requirements…corresponding to an ideal standard?

In God’s eyes, to be perfect means to know that you are NOTHING and that you can DO NOTHING.  To be perfect means to know that you DO have faults and defects, that you DO NOT satisfy all the requirements, and that you DO NOT correspond to an ideal standard.  BUT GOD DOES.  God is without fault and defect.  God satisfies all the requirements.  God corresponds to an ideal standard.  And He wants to live HIS LIFE in you and through you. He wants to be in charge of your thoughts, your emotions, your actions, and your purpose—your person.

IF ANYONE THINKS HE IS SOMETHING WHEN HE IS NOTHING, HE DECEIVES HIMSELF
(Galatians 6:3).

I bless you to stop striving to be without fault and defect.  You will never be.  Stop trying to satisfy all the requirements.  You never will. Stop trying to correspond to an ideal standard.  You never can.  Instead, invite God into each situation of your busy life.  Admit that you are not…BUT that HE IS, and that you cannot…but that HE CAN!

THERE REMAINS, THEN, A SABBATH-REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD; FOR ANYONE WHO ENTERS GOD’S REST ALSO RESTS FROM HIS OWN WORK, JUST AS GOD DID FROM HIS
(Hebrews 4:9-10).

Do you consider yourself to be something good, something beautiful, and something perfect? Then, maybe you think that FROM YOU are all things. Maybe you think that you can do anything and everything. Could it be that you are deceiving yourself?

PRAYER: I admit that I cannot, Lord Jesus, but You never said I could. Thank you that You can, Lord Jesus, and always said You would.

We run…and run…and run. We run towards bad distractions and destructions like alcohol, drugs, or even crime, or we run towards good distractions like entertainment, or our husbands, wives, friends, or counselors.
