May the God of Truth Redeem Your Spirit

BUT THERE IS A SPIRIT IN MAN, AND THE BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY GIVES HIM UNDERSTANDING
(Job 32:8).

Often, when I am confused, perturbed, or anxious, and I hand this over to God, the Breath of the Almighty gives me understanding.  It is not necessarily an understanding that I can grasp and explain with my mind, at first, but an understanding that places Truth, Hope, and Love directly into my spirit.

FOR THE WORD OF GOD IS QUICK, AND POWERFUL, AND SHARPER THAN ANY TWO-EDGED SWORD, PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVIDING ASUNDER OF SOUL AND SPIRIT, AND OF THE JOINTS AND MARROW, AND IS A DISCERNER OF THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS OF THE HEART
(Hebrews 4:12).

The active, living Words of the Lord God of Truth are very powerful. They speak into our spirits when we invite His Presence and Participation into our daily perceptions. These Words of Truth redeem our spirits, renew our minds, and heal our bodies.

INTO YOUR HAND I COMMIT MY SPIRIT; YOU HAVE REDEEMED ME, O LORD GOD OF TRUTH
(Psalm 31:5).

Celebrate that the God of Truth can circumvent your mind to speak directly to your spirit.  His Words of Truth will reach places in your spirit where humans have no access.  The Breath of the Almighty will redeem you from the inside out, through your heart. At first, your mind will not understand His Words or His Perspective. However, the Truth in your spirit will eventually reach your mind…and your mind will become renewed, as well.

Commit your spirit into the hand of the God of Truth, so the Breath of the Almighty may give your mind understanding, from the inside out, through your spirit.

Learn to set your understanding aside, while you listen for the Breath of the Almighty with your heart.

Find your perturbing perception. Feel the emotion that goes along with it. Look for the original place in your childhood where you first believed this perception and felt the accompanying emotions. Then, ask the Lord God of Truth to redeem you. Listen for His Words—the Breath of the Lord God Almighty. Remember, at first, your mind will not understand what He is saying, but your heart will.

PRAYER: Into your hand I commit my spirit, O Lord God of Truth. Redeem me, today.

This must be the hardest of all lessons to learn: to keep our eyes on the Eternal God during difficult circumstances, and trust that His everlasting arms are underneath us, holding us and keeping us safe.
